9 Mar 25 Comment Randy, I am immediately drawn to your sky which I think makes both the B&W and color photo. I didn't find the lake in your B&W photo till I looked at your original color version, which I like more. The landscape is interesting with its rolling hills, the gray, green and brown colors, and the mountain peaks in the background. To my eye, the land mass on the right side of the photo is a little distracting from the more interesting parts or your landscape. I cropped your image to a 9x10 landscape creating a winding leading line from the inlet in the lake through the rolling hills to the mountain top. To me, this is the most interesting part of your photo, the blue lake in the foreground and mountain peaks in the background, which I think is a beautiful photo. I know you lose most of the sky which was your original intent. What do you think? Mar 10th
9 Mar 25 Comment Yvonne, I had to smile and chuckle seeing this image of someone inside a phone booth wearing a cape, with his/her back to you. Very curious. Lots to see in this photo with color, a wall mural depicting a time long ago and posted, or painted beer advertisements and a wall, but more curious about the caller in the booth. I've become a fan of street photography since being a member of this group and your photo doesn't disappoint. Like Douglas, I had to research your camera and learned something new. Thanks for that. No recommendations for improvement, Great job! Mar 10th
9 Mar 25 Comment Sylvia, you certainly nailed this one. Tack sharp throughout the image, great color, lots of subject matter that is all brought together with the two strangers sitting in the bus stop that adds greater interest to the story. Great job! I hope your recovering well. Mar 7th
9 Mar 25 Comment Douglas, very nice capture of the skyline. It looks well exposed and sharp across the image. The soft two tone colors in the sky are beautiful and the moon is a great touch, especially with its reflection in the water. Well done. Mar 7th
9 Mar 25 Reply Thank you for your kind words Linda. I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and try something different. Your description of what you sense when viewing the image is much appreciated. Mar 7th
9 Mar 25 Comment Linda, this is a fantastic image. The contrast between varying shades of black and white along with the different shapes of circles, squares, curves and lines are mesmerizing. The silhouette couple are sharp and are perfect just by themselves, but their shadows add so much more interest to the story. It is a fun image for me to gaze at. Great job Linda. Mar 7th
9 Mar 25 Comment Sabine, this is a great photo and a wonderful capture of your Kingfish. The image is in focus and is sharp with a great catch light in its eye. The layers of the feathers displayed from the neck to the tail are beautifully shown against a nice background. The shades of blue and the colors of the beak are beautiful as is the side profile of the bird's head with its fish in its beak making this a stunning image.
My preference for your image would be a smaller crop (5x4) that also eliminates a bright spot (upper corner) and a branch (lower corner). I'm interested to know if, or how the allowable technics of PSAs nature section influenced your post processing decisions.
I have spotted a kingfisher at a lake near my house a few times, but I am never able to position myself close enough for a decent capture. Great Job!

21 Mar 25 Reply Mike, I played with your recommendations and do see an improvement to my image. Thanks for your efforts. Mar 28th
21 Mar 25 Reply Thanks Mike. Mar 13th
21 Mar 25 Comment Mike, interesting photo of a bird I've not seen. Tack sharp with very good detail and color of the entire bird. Catch light in the eye is a nice touch. I like the ripples and color in the water, especially as it appears in the foreground which has a somewhat soothing effect. The wake in the water and the bird's reflection adds interest and reality to the story. A very nice photo. Mar 13th
21 Mar 25 Reply Thanks Michael. I tried different variations of your post processing suggestions without success. Please feel free to download and show me your version. Thanks again Michael. Mar 7th
21 Mar 25 Comment Michael, great shot of the pelican in this pose. In focus and sharp across the image and the colors are fantastic. I like Toms crop of the image, eliminating the blurred fore ground. I didnt notice it until Leslie pointed it out, but agree with her cloning recommendation Nice job. Mar 7th
21 Mar 25 Reply I agree, and will continue to play with the image to find a more suitable composition that can feature the eye. It is still a feature that I am most attracted to. Thanks Leslie. Mar 5th
21 Mar 25 Comment Maybe not a pin-up Leslie, but as Tom said, does tell a story. To me, looks like the male is chasing the female all the while trying to convince her his side of the story, while at the same time she is swimming away from him, is having her say in the matter. I would have suggested cropping the shore line out, but I think it's really part of the story. Mar 5th
21 Mar 25 Reply Thanks Tom. I'm not entirely happy with my crop, and will continue to play around with it. Mar 5th
21 Mar 25 Comment The Birds of Florida are amazing creatures some of which I've never seen, so I really appreciate seeing the beautiful images from that area you submit. The pose of the bird couldn't be better and the color on the wings are fantastic. The various colors on the head and face form patterns and shapes that are amazing to see as well. I think the crop is just right and the background blur is good. I did remove part of the foliage on the right side of your image which helped me stay focused more on the bird, what do you think? Another nice capture Tom. Mar 5th

42 Mar 25 Comment Charles, This is a spectacular image. Everything is so in focus and sharp revealing perfect details, very impressive especially at the shutter speed used. The colors are fantastic and an open beak makes this image. Very nice. Mar 26th
