This is a lovely capture of an intimate moment between a loving couple. I like the post processing colors in the sky, background and pavers which I think are done nicely, as well as the skin tones, which also look very natural. Good call on the removal of the pole and wires. Collectively, all the elements come together nicely to form a great photo. Very nice Linda. |

Thank you Linda for your kind observations. I agree with your cropping recommendation. As demonstrated by Sabine, a square crop format much improves the image in my mind. |

I like the color and luminosity of the storm clouds better in your original. Personal taste. |

Yes, I did recognize the clouds from the sky. Of course, the color saturation is a matter of taste, which often varies from one viewer to the next. Regardless, it's a beautiful image which I have revisited a few times since you posted. Very graceful branches which I'm always on the lookout for. Really nice. |

I just wasn't quick enough to capture the sun perfectly balanced on the pole. The wide crop seems to the most popular among group members. Thank you for your efforts Randy. |

The car bothered me as well, which is why I cropped the bottom portion out. We just happened to walk outside and when I noticed the sun, and I just wasn't quick enough with camera settings to get a meaningful composition, before the sun hid behind clouds…in just a few minutes. Thank you for your efforts Sylvia. |

The lamp post is mounted to a railing on the bridge, which I cropped out because I couldn't clean up the base of the lamp as you did. Great job. As I explained to Yvonne, it's difficult for me to visualize adjustments to the sky (color, luminosity, etc) both you and Yvonne did, because it varies so much from memory. It was quite a site. But, I never thought about experimenting with filters as you did for the sky. That said, your crop that includes the bridge railing and tree branches, is an improvement to my original, and one I like. I'll use it as I continue working on this image. I knew there was an image hidden there somewhere! Thanks again for your time Sabine, much appreciated. |

I spent some time evaluating your recommendations. I wish I had a knack for the artsy..but the added space just doesn't connect with me at this point in time. I also have a vivid memory of the sky i.e. color and luminosity and had a great deal of difficulty to reproduce a likeness in post processing. I will digest recommendations by the group and will revisit this photo to play around with the recommendations. Thanks again for your time Yvonne, very much appreicated. |

Very nice image. I think you succeeded very well with your assignment. Good composition with the sky, castle, creek and foliage in the foreground and background. I did add a mask to the sky and a another to the castle and made minor adjustments to highlights, contrast, blacks and saturation with the intent to create some separation. |

I enjoy learning about local history from the past, and your photo captures a part of that history nicely. Great subject especially taken at night. All the elements of the scene contributes to an interesting story. That said, cropping the photo to include only the front of the building, sidewalk, and removing the power line on top of the building, is a more pleasing image to me. However, I like your second image with the large ICE sign. Cropping the image to include only the side of the building from that angle, taken at night with the light over the Door casting a nice soft light on that side of the building and onto the surface of the loading dock tells me a very interesting story. Nice job. |

I know, challenging. I'm close to tossing this one, but thought I'd give this group a stab at it. Air pollution produced by burning forest in the north western part of Canada was affecting the sun and sky colors in this part of Vermont. I couldn't get the blue sky quite right, but the sun color is pretty much spot on. It was amazing to see. |

Greal floral shot. Nice sharp details with great color against a darker, muted background. The different yellow colors are exposed nicely. Interesting, I never knew sunflowers actually follow the sun. I enjoy flower photography, but always struggle getting a nice shot of a sunflower. This is a beautiful capture. |

Randy, like you, I'm always looking out for the "right" tree. You captured a great one. Love the graceful shape with its soft green, airy leaves allowing us to see all the tree branches against a dramatic blue sky. The blue sky might be just a tad bit saturated, but that's just my taste. Eye catching composition! Very nice. |

This image, and your back story, makes me smile and laugh. Very creative eye catching use of color and subject. Like Sylvia, I instantly thought of Ronald McDonald. I like that everything is sharp throughout the image against a black background, keeps me focused on the elements of the composition. Directional Lighting along the left side is done as well. Great shot! |

Nice action shot Charles. What's most appealing to me though are all the contrasting colors. |
