Wow! As Yvonne pointed out, the colors are fantastic, especially against the rich browns of the table top your harvest plate sits upon and everything is so sharp. Composition of the items in this photo is done nicely. Not sure if any post processing was done, but the right side of the image could be lightened, just a little. The longer I look the hungrier I get! Nice image. |

Fantastic capture! The sky color and the size and shape of the lightning bolt provides a perfect background match to the foreground. Just enough detail in the foreground to recognize structures, trees and the mountains. Light from the windows in each structure is just right and the star effect on the street light is perfect. The house hidden in the mountains is nicely defined too. Beautiful image Sabine. |

Interesting subject. I can count the hairs on its chiny-chin-chin, very sharp image! Great color and detail of what I think is a Japanese beetle. Composition is done well. To capture that level of sharpness at that shutter speed, I'm guessing you used a tri-pod and/or a flash? Nice image Sylvia. |

I have the same problem and don't know why jpegs appear darker only after uploading. I try to take that into account with some tweaking prior to uploading, if I can remember. Very nice photo. |

Yvonne, even though the blossom is not as sharp as it could be, your choice of crop does bring together a more complete story in my mind. The background colors of blue in the water and green in the Lilly pads create a nice contrast in color and are sharp. This is where my eye is drawn and where i find your photo most appealing. I noticed the sun is to your right in this image, and if so, a polarizing filter might have reduced some of the bright spots on the Lilly pads. Just a thought; There are different small crop options in the shaded areas with opportunity to produce an interesting image with work in photo shop. You deserve much credit to run every morning with that particular camera lens. Nice job! |

Thanks Sabine. This was taken several years ago and really can't remember how light/dark the sky was then. But yours In comparison to mine, I agree my sky should be darker. I will definitely revisit this image in Lightroom and experiment. Thanks for taking the time Sabine, much appreciated. |

Thanks Douglas, I agree your crop improves the image. Sometimes I get wrapped around the axel with characteristics of an image that really appeal to me, like the clouds and foreground in this case, that I simply forget to experiment with different crops. Thanks again. |

Randy, welcome to the group. Nice warm sunset feeling at the seaside. Beautiful sky with soothing warm colors are beautifully captured without blown highlights from the setting sky. All the colors throughout the image come together nicely. Mist from the sea near the upper right corner is a nice touch. I think the exposure is perfect, though I initially thought the foreground might be a little too dark, but decided it likely looked that way given the time of day you shot the photo. Good detail in the highlights and blacks and sharp across the image as well. I always struggle with post processing adjustments to produce an image as I remember it to be, i.e. colors, saturation, intensity, etc.. To my eye, you created a very nice image, great job. |

Douglas, really nice action photo. Great subject matter, perfect angle for that composition, the colors really come together nicely and your exposure looks spot on. Your crop is perfect and the blurred background creates very good separation between the players and the background. A shutter speed up to 1/1000 is recommended for sports which likely would have sharpened the letters on the runners jersey, but really like the way the dust is kicked up by the runner by your chosen shutter speed. Nice job! I'm wondering though, did the baseman catch one on the jaw from the runner? |
