Thank you for your kind words Douglas. I was lucky, as there was very necessity for post processing this image. Cropping was my biggest challenge so work done by Sabine was a great improvement to the original, and was also a good learning exercise for me.
I'm really glad you've found a source you're happy with to learn Lightroom. You work hard at learning how to post-process images, which is evident in your monthly photo submissions.
I looked at the greylearning website which I filed for future reference. Thanks again Douglas. |

Sabine, Love your chosen project. I enjoy my wife's flower gardens each year, so I can relate, and appreciate, your challenge to capture a bloom of the same flower at three different life cycle stages. I like the beautiful purple/blue colors against the soft green bokeh background, and the position of each of the three blossoms in each frame creates a nice leading diagonal line across all three images. The crop size and purple boarder for each image is perfect and presents your project very well. While the exposure appears equal in all three images, personally, I would increase exposure just a bit in each photo and add a little more depth of field to give more definition to each image. Your triptych was done very well and is a joy to look at and your project is an inspiration to me. I think my wife would like to see a like project with flowers from her garden. Very well done. |

Thank you Sabine for your work. In all honesty, I liked your crop of my original the moment I saw it. Your reasoning for a different crop makes so much more sense to me and I wonder why I didn't see it during my initial post-processing. It's always so interesting to me to see a different perspective from the same image that can turn into a learning experience. I spent a lot of time deciding the crop I used, but I think revisiting an image later on after post processing is completed, might help me to identify possible improvements. Thanks again Sabine. |

Great project. Each item likely has a great story, but my favorite is the jug in the background. That one looks to me like the most interesting story to tell of all. While the handle on the jug is a bit soft, the detail captured elsewhere and in the orbs is very good. The placement of all four items looks very good. Color throughout the four items, the table and wall, is complementary and pleasing to look at. Did you used a tripod? Removal of the string from the handle on the jug would be less distracting and I wonder if a polarizing filter would have prevented/reduced the glare on all four items. This is a pleasing picture to look at Dough, Great job! |

Different geographic shapes and different contrasting shades of B&W, from white to black, are done very well. I enjoy this much more than the coloured image. The diagonal line from lower left to top center of the photo grounds the image nicely. Suggest removing the ceiling blemishes located in upper right corner of the photo. This image would look great framed. Great job Yvonne. |

I applaud your courage Linda. Being terrified of heights, image .# 2 gives me the willies, but I appreciate that the final image could not be produced without a photo taken from that height. I really like the Final image more than the B&W. The spiral design is more appealing to me and is isolated from other elements. It helps me to explore the shapes and color throughout the image. I'm captivated by viewing the concentric circles of different sizes from top to bottom of the structure and the contrasting shades of color, its like a joyful fall through a funnel. Its a fantastic image Linda, great job. |

Very clever project. Your time and effort in producing this fantastic collage is very impressive. I smile and laugh when looking at the body language of all three players. I'm also impressed with your use of lighting, which is also done very well, something I'm not adept at all in using. I don't know the technic in constructing a collage, but regarding why the wood frame looks different in different photos; could the sizing of each photo used be different from each other? Great job Sylvia. |

Thank you for the effort Sylvia. Water background was the easy part, finding an opening in the bushes with a clear shot of the iris bloom was the challenge. I forgot to include my camera data in my statement; full frame camera body, hand held 400mm, 1/2000 sec, f/6.3, ISO 1600, shutter priority and partial metering. |
