9 Jun 24 Reply Thanks Charles. I had no idea what kind of image would result from this experiment, and except for the lack of sharpness, I was pleasantly surprised of the results as seen throughout the vertical center. It was a fun experiment. Jun 23rd

9 Jun 24 Comment The pose of the ballerina is graceful and very interesting but the detail in her eyes are what draws my attention repeatedly to this sculpture and makes this image even more interesting to me. All white against a green background along with the red roses also captures my attention and adds interest to this image. The building in the background is a bit distracting and I know little can be done during composition to reduce/eliminate this background, but I wonder if AI in photoshop/Lightroom can improve the background? Your backstory is appreciated and adds more interest to your photo. Impressive image quality with your cell phone. Very nicely done Douglas. Jun 23rd
9 Jun 24 Comment Great back story Linda, enhancing my interest to your photo. Capturing a slice of time with the instantaneous reactions of four individuals as they interact in this particular circumstance is done very well here. I like that each person is telling a story of their own in this photo mixed with the other elements within the photo (car, table and chairs, various store fronts, different light sources). I also like the color in the original image but the contrast between light and dark throughout the B&W is what really captivates me and the cropping of the B&W helps me to stay focused on the subjects. Really nice job! Jun 23rd

9 Jun 24 Reply Thank you Linda for your thoughtful response. This image certainly requires a certain creative taste to appreciate. Hopefully, those unfamiliar with this process might be inspired to experiment with their own past photo's and possibly create a great image. Thanks again Linda. Jun 17th
9 Jun 24 Comment What a great landscape image. The detail and sharpness are very good in the foreground, farm setting and clouds. This image consisting of four layers (foreground, midground, space between the horizon and bottom layer of the storm clouds and the storm clouds itself) really adds interest to this story. A farm setting in the midst of a landscape vastness is a great setting and I think you nailed the monochrome settings. Collectively, this image tells a very interesting story. I like Sylvia's version but do prefer the original. The storm clouds have great detail and certainly tell a story by itself, but I do think cropping the top and bottom a little brings a little more balance to the four layers of the image, but that is simply my preference. Really nice image Cindy. Jun 11th
9 Jun 24 Comment Very beautiful image of a blossom. The pastel colors are soothing against the white background and the position and cropping are just right to me. The graceful shape of the blossom leaves along with the yellow core draws my attention to all the details. Light, airy and very delicate. Very interesting!
High Key photography is new to me, and I wonder if you tried a B&W conversion of this image, which I think would be just as impressive. Great job Sylvia, and thank you for the introduction to High Key photography!

9 Jun 24 Reply Thanks Sylvia. Knowing someone else is seeing what I see confirms its not just my imagination! Actually, I followed instructions from a YouTube exercise using photoshop to accomplish this task. There are a few different YouTube sites that demonstrate step-by-step how to do this. Unfortunately, for this photo I didn't have enough depth of field to account for the curvature of the tree trunk, so the edges of the original photo are not as sharp as they need to be for a print. In any case, this was a fun exercise and I'll be better prepared for the next opportunity. Jun 8th

21 Jun 24 Reply As is often the case, my comment is strictly a personal taste. I know I'm not in the Bird group any longer, but I still enjoy seeing your work Tom. Jun 23rd
21 Jun 24 Comment Everything about the bird itself is done very well Tom, very nice capture. I think the dark background competes just a bit with the dark colors of the bird and stone it sits upon. Jun 23rd

97 Jun 24 Comment Beautiful image! love the birds against this background. Everything is so sharp, and the color of the eyes and beaks, and bird interactions really takes me right to the center of interests. Jun 23rd
