9 Jan 24 Comment Doug, Like the others, I researched information on the tower to help me appreciate your photo more. I identified areas within your photo that got my attention and made some minor adjustments to those areas more to my liking. Mask for sky - added little texture and clarity and lowered the temperature a little. Mask for clock face - added little texture and clarity and increased temperature a little. Mask for the roof - reduced contrast, slight increase in shadows and whites. Mask on the yellow lights and increase exposure a little. Removed lighted lamp post in lower left corner. These are mostly subjective changes and I'm sure others might disagree, do something different, or maybe nothing at all. In any case, your assignment would be a challenging one for me and I know I would be spending some time in LrC and photoshop. Jan 22nd
9 Jan 24 Comment Yvonne, I prefer your B&W conversion along with the revised crop. The different textures and patterns in the clothing, footwear, and the varying shades of B&W between them make this a very interesting photo. The intimacy shown between the mother and child while holding hands brings all the elements of this photo together to tell a touching story. Very nicely done. Jan 21st
9 Jan 24 Comment A very creative use of interesting materials to tell a story. I like how everything is organized and structured in your composition. The foreground and background are just enough out of focus to draw my attention to the camera, strap and photo album, which I think is the main focus of the story. I also like the color version rather than the B&W. The more I evaluate the details, the more I appreciate your photo. As others have hinted, this would make a great advertisement. Very nicely done Sylvia. Jan 21st
9 Jan 24 Reply I'm unable to include space on the original photo that doesn't exist. But, I do see your point and I think your suggestion is a valid one. I think there is a way to add space in photoshop and I will research photoshop to learn how this task. Thank you for your feedback Linda, much appreciated. Jan 17th
9 Jan 24 Comment I really like how you cropped the photo changing the perspective which I think makes for a more interesting image. Fantastic mixture of geometric shapes and color and the blue sky, clouds and city scape seen through the glass ceiling really makes this image pop for me. While I enjoy every aspect of the image, I am really drawn to the lower right corner of leading lines and varying shades of B&W. Fantastic job Linda. Jan 17th

9 Jan 24 Reply Thank you Yvonne. Jan 17th
9 Jan 24 Reply I revisited my image and cropped per your example but leaving a little bit more of the beach at the bottom of the image and I agree, it is an improvement. It's funny how I could review the original over and over and never recognize that a change was needed. Thank you for your constructive feedback Sabine, very much appreciated. Jan 17th
9 Jan 24 Reply This photo looks like a painting as well. Very nice. Jan 15th
9 Jan 24 Comment Beautiful captivating image of color and shapes. It looks like something that could have been seen by the James Webb or Hubble space telescope. Very creative and impressive. I like this photo and am drawn to everything about it but am just as curious about how you took this photo. Very nicely done Sabine. Jan 10th
9 Jan 24 Comment Very inviting image, I feel like I'm standing along side you while you take this photo. I like how the warm earth tone colors are complementary. The fence post, tall grass and the mourning dove tell a great story that reminds of a bygone era. Cropping the image as I did does help me stay focused on the story. Very nicely done. Jan 10th

97 Jan 24 Reply Tom, thank you for your kind words. Honestly, this particular photo was one of the easiest I've ever made that required very little thought on my part. Just lucky to be there at the right time and set-up. I wish all my shots were like that. Jan 10th
97 Jan 24 Reply Thank you Kathleen. Jan 9th
97 Jan 24 Reply Thanks Roy. Jan 9th
97 Jan 24 Reply Thank you Kathie. The golden finch is pretty common in places I have lived in the north eastern USA & Canada. Jan 9th
97 Jan 24 Reply Thanks Hans, and I agree more of the leaf would likely make for a better photo. Unfortunately, I don't have the original and don't remember if more of the leaf was in the original photo. Jan 9th
97 Jan 24 Comment Great shot Kathie, sharp with good detail and beautiful color. I like the composition and the pose of the bird itself. Nice separation of the bird from the background. You did a great job with post processing as well. Jan 7th
97 Jan 24 Comment Hans, you must have been lying on your back for this shot! In focus with sharp details of the face, eye and feathers. Beautiful vivid colors against a great blue sky. Very nicely done. Jan 6th
97 Jan 24 Comment Kathleen, just a beautiful intimate pose with great exposure. The color of the beaks and black facial outline are highlighted perfectly. I Really like how the delicate feathers are positioned and detailed. I do like Sylvia's crop as the lighting in the Center background is a little distracting. Very nicely done. Jan 6th
97 Jan 24 Reply Ha, you and I both! But you did do very sell squatting as low as you did. Jan 6th
97 Jan 24 Comment What nice detail in the feathers and color of two different poses made at the same time, in particular the bird with its open wings. I like the varying shades of brown and gray color in its wings. Really like the eye level shot and how the yellow eyes draw my attention. Nice separation of the birds from its background. I agree a little more space to the right side of the photo would be nice. Beautiful birds, great shot. Jan 5th
97 Jan 24 Comment What a creative idea and so beautifully done Roy. This is the first I've heard of this technique and I am very impressed with your work. Great job! Jan 4th
97 Jan 24 Comment Wow, such clarity, sharpness and detail of both the worm and bird. Great exposure and color of both as well. Really a nice shot. I am curious; were you laying on the ground to get this eye level shot? Jan 4th
97 Jan 24 Comment Thanks Sylvia. No print yet, but might do one after we're done painting the walls. Jan 4th
