Linda,
Nice photo, I love seeing glimpses of other countries! I think you were very successful in showing the a scene of connection and joy. I agree with Jim that the car is a bit distracting, but I love the other details in the photo, like the street number of the building in the background and the flower boxes on the other building. Great storytelling! |

Randy,
This is a lovely photo! Great leading lines and I especially like the reflections in the building. I think that it is a great photo as is!
But I wanted to play so in lightroom, I tried several things that did not turn out well.
I ended up adding the preset 'Soft Mix'. Then added a linear gradient from the left sliding the Dehaze to -49. I took a brush and removed some of the mask from the top of the trees.
I don't know if it is something you'd want, but I had fun playing

Thank you Yvonne,
I use the texture slider often, and worry that I push it too far.
I do like what you did. Thank you! |

Thank you Jim,
I have a Botanical Garden close by and I am a member. I try to get there once of a month with my camera. It can be difficult finding a flower with a background I like, the lighting correct, and at a height that is easy for me. My photo club has had several speakers on photographing flowers outside, but most of them carry more gear then I would enjoy. Learning lighting is hard, but I am going to persevere.
The flower is very close to the backdrop, so adding a light there is beyond my current skill level, but I will keep that in mind for the future. I did try holding lights above the flower when I shot. |

Sabine,
Thank you for your comments and your take on the tulip. While I do like your photo, I think I still prefer mine as it is what I saw. But as Douglas suggested, maybe more green on the stem.

Thank you for your comment.
I agree, the stem was washed out by the light. |

Jim,
You are more skilled in LR than I, so no suggestions from me. I will say that at first glance I was taken with your photo. It has been unseasonably cold here, and this scene looks so pleasant and inviting! I could use a walk in the woods. Right away, my eye was drawn to the top, to the sunburst, so I did not notice imperfections. If anything I might try making the trunks a tad darker.

Douglas,
I think you nailed this! The symmetry looks perfect, I can't imagine better cropping.
FYI, I have also been asking chatGpt for suggestion. I enjoy how it always starts with positives then give suggestions. |

Yvonne,
You nailed the texture overlays! I love old buildings to begin with, and you post processing is spot on. How did you get the colors in the door? If I had not seen the original, I would have that is how they looked. |

Sabine - this is fantastic! I am not sure I fully understand how you achieved this but I need to try it. I love how you added color to the flower. |

Thank you for input. I wasn't sure how to blend the flowers in the grass, so that is why I added the snow :)
But I will experiment more.
