This is a tricky one. I applaud you for getting the photo in the first place - right time, right place.
The car bothered me so I gave it a try.

Beautiful image!
I love that you were able to spend that much time with strangers. Were they able to get copies of your images?
I went back and forth between your edited and original. I love your edited image. I am curious, it looks softer than the original. How did you achieve that, it gives it a romantic fairy tale quality! |

This is the original. I think I mostly cropped in LR. |

I think you made the best of a tough challenge. The garden in the foreground is lovely on its own and the tower in the back is very interesting.
Is this in Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square? Our photo club was just there in July. I did not see this :) |

I love this! I am drawn to old buildings so this especially speaks to me. I think your editing is great.
Only thing I might have tried a tighter cropped and removed the power line.
Great shot! |

Super cute! Total honesty - at first I thought it was Ronald McDonald's feet due to the yellow pants (you may not have McDonald's?) but since the shoes are yellow and not red I quickly corrected myself.
I love that you added the little suitcase, and the touch of grass under the shoes. |

I can't imagine that this photo was not accepted in a contest. I am sorry that I cannot come up with any advice as I think it is a great shot! Of course, I am more of a backyard photographer then a competition photographer. And all judges have their biases. |

There is an egret rookery not too for from here that takes a 45 minute boat ride to get to. I have been there once and loved seeing all the egrets in the trees.
We occasionally get egrets in the creek behind our house and I never see them up high, and a few places where I typically shoot, they are always down low. So it was fun for me seeing this guys up in a tree.
Interestingly, my dog does NOT like egrets. If she sees them fly over or in the creek she goes nuts. I don't know why. So if I do see one out back, I need to sneak out of the house to try to get a photo. |

Ron,
I LOVE this shot! I hope you have it framed and on your wall!
Going to 'Puffin' island is on my bucket list. Can you share a bit about your trip? Did you get a ton of great shots? |
