Thank you, Sabine. I did try it in black and white and with many other filters and combinations. It is very hard for me to then pick the one I like the best :)
I also very much like your take on this photo.

Cindy, First of all, I love this photo!
I love the vibe, it kind of calms me.
However, may be a bit quirky on my part, but I always prefer to have heavier parts on the right, so I thought I'd see how that looks. As I was in LR and have recently been into filters, here is what I came up with. Not better in my opinion, but different. |

Jim, Beautiful photo!
I find it almost inspirational, a good reason to get up early. Very well done |

Beautiful shot. I also struggle a bit with night photography, in part, because I seldom drag myself out after dark.
I love how the lights glow at the top of the tower. I am wondering how late in the day it was as I can still see blue in the sky behind the trees. I too am interested in your camera settings.

I think this is very interesting perspective to focus on their feet and legs. I also love that you went with black and white.
I will say that I prefer Sabine's crop. |

This photo is gorgeous! As typical with your photos, I'd love a behind the scenes photo as I'd love to try this :) |

I did this in photo shop - I added a text layer and and used the color picker to pick out the color of their beaks. The hardest part is choosing a font :) |

On the other hand, my hubby and I have a small business refinishing furniture, and as I'm in charge of marketing (ie posting to Facebook) I post a lot of photos with inspirational or funny quotes. So your version would be amazing on social media with a quote - I hope I'm not offending you - I just threw this together but you get the idea. |

This is a great shot! I love the bokeh background. You not only have a good eye - but evidently a great ear.
And I have to say that I have a p900. I never seemed to get a sharp photo at the longer zooms - so kudos to you! |

These swans are gorgeous! Love their pose. Very sharp photo. And while I typically am not a fan of a tight crop, I think that I would prefer this with a tighter crop. |

I love the yellow of his feathers against the blue background. He looks very regal and proud to me.

Thank you.
I am at the point in my life that I have to plan how I am going to get up when I get on the ground :) I was just squatting as low as I can go. |

This is beautiful!
Interestingly, the local photo club that I belong to has started and 'artistic editing' group. One of our advanced photoshop uses just went over this technique with us. |

Beautiful photo! I love mergansers. I agree it is great that you have two birds in two poses. I think for me I would love to see it cropped with a bit more space on the right. |

Jim,
I LOVE this crop! I think this is a great shot - I love the yellow of the birds feathers against the green background and red leaves. I hope that you have it printed and hanging on your wall. |
