9 Aug 23 Reply I had a small led light I put behind the bottles. First attempt, if I do it again I may try something different Aug 15th
9 Aug 23 Comment I think that this tells a great story! The old building with bright new mural. I love that you have equipment on the mural on the right - I wonder if they were cleaning or still working on the mural. And I too love that you captured the bird. Aug 10th
9 Aug 23 Reply Thank you so much for the feedback! I agree, it does look better with a darker background. Aug 10th
9 Aug 23 Comment You always have the most interesting subjects. I like what you did with it and have no immediate thoughts. How did you remove all the green vines?

However, I'm taking a photoshop class so may try to come with something.

9 Aug 23 Comment I love the colors in this shot! I'd never guess that this was your first attempt. Aug 9th
9 Aug 23 Comment This is such a great composition! How cool that you are able to get the reflection in the pool of water. Aug 9th
9 Aug 23 Comment Cute! Aug 9th
9 Aug 23 Comment I love this photo! I think that your editing is spot on. To my untrained eye I feel like the horizon line if off just a bit. Aug 9th

97 Aug 23 Reply Yes, I tighter crop would have worked. I use Topaz Photo AI - always on auto. I can't remember if I used it on this photo or not. Aug 7th
97 Aug 23 Comment Welcome to the group!

This is such a beautiful bird. I love the detail you were able to capture. I am going to enjoy having you in the group as I will get to see new birds.
Also, I had/have a P900 - but my photos NEVER turned out this sharp.

97 Aug 23 Reply I live in Norfolk, VA. It is about a two hour drive to ARNWR. My daughter loves wildlife photography so we have been there quite often. Aug 4th

97 Aug 23 Reply I have never been to either Lake Mattamuskeet or Washington NC so you will have to let me know what you see!
I don't know if you've been to ARNWR before, but the owls are often found on Sawyer Lake Road.

Pocosin Lakes NWF is near Columbia - and you want to go to the Pungo Unit.
Pungo Unit Of Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge

I feel like the bears the seem to be more active after rain. But I've not ever taken notes...

Let me know how you make out!

97 Aug 23 Reply Where are you heading to? Any chance Alligator River or Pocosin Lakes? Happy Hunting! Aug 3rd
97 Aug 23 Comment Welcome to the group!

This is a beautiful shot! I loved that you captured their necks curving and facing each other. With the grass in in front of them it is like you interrupted a private moment.

97 Aug 23 Reply Thank you for the feedback and taking the time to edit the photo. I definitely need to up my post-processing game. Did you use photoshop or lightroom to edit it? Aug 3rd
97 Aug 23 Reply Interestingly, I prefer your original crop. I think it is a more appealing image over all. I feel like I am there with the bird in a meadow.
The close crop - I find the lower flower distracting and just over all not as interesting. I guess if I was googling red-winged blackbird I would like the close cropped image more.

97 Aug 23 Comment That is some sharp shooting! I love his face close up. Thanks for sharing the original Aug 1st
97 Aug 23 Comment I 100% agree with the rule, and that this was the perfect time to break it - and you got his face in profile. It is neat to see his tail fanned out, and I also enjoy the wildflower. I am curious if the you got the background that blurred out of the camera of if that is some fancy editing?

Beautiful image!

97 Aug 23 Comment Great shot! And lucky - I am good at scaring of herons but they never come back to me. I love all the color in the water. Aug 1st
97 Aug 23 Comment This is such a great shot! I love the two birds together, one in focus and one not. Great detail in his face! Aug 1st
