Thank you Sabine! I'm not great with the Dodge tool -- it's on my learning curve! |

Stephen captured my thinking -- paintings and photographs -- interaction is fascinating! |

Hi Randy,
I can hear and smell this shot -- the crisp air, salty and misty, the waves and fizz of the receding water, gulls and shore birds -- it's a feast!
Frankly -- I think your photo is great as is and I'm tempted to borrow it as my lock screen on my phone.
Thank you! |

Hi Jim,
Your photo is a treat!
My only comment is that I was distracted by the foliage at the far left and while I tried to erase it, the better option, IHMO, was a tighter crop.
It's a really pleasing image and tells a lovely story! |

Hi Sylvia,
My guess is that you did a masterful job of cropping this image. The balance, movement, and arrangement is really great. The eye moves left to right, down to up and the image adds in complexity along the visual journey.
Thank you for keeping the spent blooms with the fresh ones -- there is a "circle of life" quality to the composition! |

So glad you gave the "outlier" the attention it deserves. In a simpler sense, I was reminder of the "Where's Waldo" books -- the one red one is a veritable sea of white blossoms!
Looking forward to enjoying your photos in 58!

Hi Yvonne --
Photos with drastic contrasts always intrigue me and the juxtaposition of the delicate, fragile, bright downy feather against the unmovable rock and the muddy silt is striking. The reflection of the sky, sun, and clouds provide an ethereal quality that adds dimension.
My own (limited) experience with AI (ChatGPT) is that it will often lead to photos that are over wrought with tweaks and nudges and that sometimes lose their original raw beauty. For me, photographic perfection is not the goal -- creating a story or sensation is. Your photo does that well!
Thank you!

I am envious of your experience at the lake -- what a magnificent venue!
Two comments about your photo:
1. I love that one of the tulips is framed exactly at the intersection of the two mountains which form a "v" pointing to the flower.
2. The photo doesn't feel like a photograph to me -- more of a painting or watercolor. Perhaps the post processing limited the depth and texture of the scene.
Regardless - it's a joy to look at. |
