9 Oct 25 Reply Love your last sentence! Nature does the work and we just grab it! Oct 20th
9 Oct 25 Reply Thanks Randy - and yes - was late afternoon when we were there. Oct 15th
9 Oct 25 Comment Hi Randy!

I like the fact that the blossom seems to be coming out of the frame right toward the viewer -- there's a sense of movement and vitality. I also like the hint of pollen on the lower petals -- very pleasing photo.

I'd be interested to hear any critique of Affinity. I'm centered on using Lightroom and Snapchat (on my phone). Feel like I should master them before I move on -- but then again -- no sense in getting in a rut!

9 Oct 25 Reply Thank you!

Sounds as thought you've been there?

9 Oct 25 Reply Thanks Jim -- I did play with the sky a little bit - and should have gone further. It was a truly deep blue that day and didn't want to short-change nature! Oct 13th
9 Oct 25 Comment I'll add my voice to the chorus -- it's a truly lovely photo and of a modest rose. You did a masterful job of cropping and framing. Well done! Oct 12th
9 Oct 25 Comment I really like the idea of the burnt down, dripping candles in the sticks. I'd go a step further and attempt to capture wisps of smoke from the wicks.

9 Oct 25 Comment I also love the top tier of Hudson Yards peeking out above the tree tops to the right. So much going on in the photo -- and the scale of the buildings from ground level is quite overwhelming! Oct 12th
9 Oct 25 Reply I really love the panorama crop. My struggle was to keep a glimpse of the flowers in the foreground. It's an interesting trade-off. Oct 12th
9 Oct 25 Comment I also think the decision to flip the photo was brilliant -- in its current situation the entire image flows smoothly from the upper left to the lower right -- following the water fall. Really gorgeous and so much activity and energy! Oct 12th
9 Oct 25 Comment Had you not disclosed some of the details around the photo I could have believed that the other tourists were models! The photo would not have been nearly as interesting if you had the library to yourself.

The only slight edit that I wanted was to add some light to the three graces statue -- it's slightly lighter than the rest and I was hoping for more!

47 Oct 25 Comment Wow -- flipping the image makes a remarkable difference and effortlessly pulls my eyes to those of the bear. Note to self: always test an image by flipping. So easy and makes a huge difference. Oct 13th
47 Oct 25 Comment I've always lived in urban areas so wildlife, especially the huge kind, are foreign to me. At first I thought there was a sheen to the coat or even if it was wet. Like Ed, I didn't see the branch at first -- but now -- I admit, it distracts!

The image projects immense power and dominance. Have no idea how far away you were...but I would have taken a few more steps back!

47 Oct 25 Comment Hi Kirsti!

I played with the tires a bit and brought up the left and darkened the right and completed with a vignette.

Such an interesting photo!

47 Oct 25 Reply I think it needs the wire -- looks a little unexciting without it! Oct 13th
47 Oct 25 Comment Just for fun, I took it out... Oct 13th
47 Oct 25 Comment With the possible exceptions of the one man's shirt and the shoes on the step the photo could have been taken anytime in the last century. I really like that it's not overly sharp and the gray tones add a really nice filter.

Makes me want to know more about them and their living situation.
