Love your last sentence! Nature does the work and we just grab it! |

Thanks Randy - and yes - was late afternoon when we were there. |

Hi Randy!
I like the fact that the blossom seems to be coming out of the frame right toward the viewer -- there's a sense of movement and vitality. I also like the hint of pollen on the lower petals -- very pleasing photo.
I'd be interested to hear any critique of Affinity. I'm centered on using Lightroom and Snapchat (on my phone). Feel like I should master them before I move on -- but then again -- no sense in getting in a rut! |

Sounds as thought you've been there? |

Thanks Jim -- I did play with the sky a little bit - and should have gone further. It was a truly deep blue that day and didn't want to short-change nature! |

I'll add my voice to the chorus -- it's a truly lovely photo and of a modest rose. You did a masterful job of cropping and framing. Well done! |

I really like the idea of the burnt down, dripping candles in the sticks. I'd go a step further and attempt to capture wisps of smoke from the wicks.

I also love the top tier of Hudson Yards peeking out above the tree tops to the right. So much going on in the photo -- and the scale of the buildings from ground level is quite overwhelming! |

I really love the panorama crop. My struggle was to keep a glimpse of the flowers in the foreground. It's an interesting trade-off. |

I also think the decision to flip the photo was brilliant -- in its current situation the entire image flows smoothly from the upper left to the lower right -- following the water fall. Really gorgeous and so much activity and energy! |

Had you not disclosed some of the details around the photo I could have believed that the other tourists were models! The photo would not have been nearly as interesting if you had the library to yourself.
The only slight edit that I wanted was to add some light to the three graces statue -- it's slightly lighter than the rest and I was hoping for more! |

Wow -- flipping the image makes a remarkable difference and effortlessly pulls my eyes to those of the bear. Note to self: always test an image by flipping. So easy and makes a huge difference. |

I've always lived in urban areas so wildlife, especially the huge kind, are foreign to me. At first I thought there was a sheen to the coat or even if it was wet. Like Ed, I didn't see the branch at first -- but now -- I admit, it distracts!
The image projects immense power and dominance. Have no idea how far away you were...but I would have taken a few more steps back! |

Hi Kirsti!
I played with the tires a bit and brought up the left and darkened the right and completed with a vignette.
Such an interesting photo! |

I think it needs the wire -- looks a little unexciting without it! |

With the possible exceptions of the one man's shirt and the shoes on the step the photo could have been taken anytime in the last century. I really like that it's not overly sharp and the gray tones add a really nice filter.
Makes me want to know more about them and their living situation. |
