9 Jun 25 Reply Thank you Linda! I also have a monochrome version and it accentuates the expressions since the dress doesn't monopolize the image. Jun 20th

9 Jun 25 Comment Hi Randy!

I agree that the collection of shapes and colors is captivating -- and a credit to your eye and instincts as a photographer to not only see it but have your camera at the ready!

I did a little cropping -- removed some of the floor in the foreground and also the partial archway on the left. I also boosted a bit of the exposure (although I have a bad tendency to over do that!) -- and brightened the colors. Just playing around!

Thanks,

Doug

9 Jun 25 Comment Hi Jim!

I cropped and straightened the image -- wanted less grass in the foreground. Lighting was tweaked using an "auto" button. I let the one line die to the lower right corner.

It's a long narrow shot with the interesting points at either end. If I was better in Lightroom I might try to eliminate some of the middle.

Looks like a wonderful place to visit!

9 Jun 25 Comment Hi Sylvia,

As I looked at your photo my eye wanted something horizontal to latch onto -- and so I played with it. Maybe too extreme in the crop and saturation -- but I like the vivid colors.

Sounds like an amazing trip!

9 Jun 25 Comment Wow! This is one of the most unusual photos of the Eiffel Tower that I've seen (I've not been to Paris) -- and your description has me wondering if I'm looking at a reflection or the actual? You must have removed a lot of distractions because it appears the tower is by itself.

Thank you!

9 Jun 25 Reply Thanks Jim!

You're right about the exposure -- I cranked it up a lot to get detail in the faces and overdid the gown -- nice fix!

9 Jun 25 Comment Hi Yvonne,

I played with the photo a little bit as well and tried to bring out some of the details in the shadows -- doors, etc. -- but it just washed out everything else and ruined the feel of your photo.

It's really hard to manage such a contrast between light/dark and color/monochrome. I think you have the best balance between all of it!

Love the historic significance!

9 Jun 25 Comment I looked up the festival and it looks like something no photographer would want to miss!

Did you have much post processing with your photo -- specifically asking about the colors -- are they natural or did you boost or alter? The lavender in the middle portion is especially beautiful

I really like the composition divided so neatly into thirds -- with the sky the upper third, the calm see the middle, and the water movement the lower. The horizon provides a perfect line against which the ripples and waves of the ocean seems to emanate into increased randomness.

47 Jun 25 Comment Thank you! Really like the vignette - that's not a tool I go to often but likely should! Jun 11th
47 Jun 25 Comment Hi Albert,

This is a really good example of what I value in monochrome photography. This photo is 100% feeling and mood -- with nothing to distract.

I wonder about cropping out a bit of the street on the bottom? Not sure it's an improvement -- your original is really nice!

47 Jun 25 Comment Hi Kristi,

This is great -- I'm intrigued at all of the post processing that you did and especially like the "sidewalk chalk" effect. So appropriate for the subject. Really enjoy the transition from a somewhat murky/mossy photo into the final piece!

Thank you,

Doug

47 Jun 25 Comment Amazing that you caught the dancer both in focus and mid-air! Nice job!

I only lightened and sharpened a bit -- I had trouble seeing it -- likely my old eyes!

47 Jun 25 Comment Hi Robert!

I really love the atmosphere and feel of your image -- the two subjects on the same wall oblivious to each other and engrossed in their own worlds.

I did the obvious to the photo just to see how it would look and centered/cropped some of it. Not at all sure it's better but appeals to my sense of order!

Thank you!

Doug
