Thanks Jim - I did struggle with the glare and didn't consider a filter. The string actually holds a medallion of authenticity so I can't remove it but could have deleted it from the photo. Good call! |

The blur adds such an ethereal backdrop to the very simple and quite beautiful flower! Agree that Sabine's crop is an improvement but your work with the colors, blur, saturation/vibrancy is really great.
I'm spending a lot of time learning Lightroom (enrolled in an online course that was recommended to me. It's offered by Tim Grey (https://www.greylearning.com/) that's really good (and not very expensive). I thought of you today during the class and glad I remembered to mention it! |

I am intrigued by the placement of the 3 models. They form 3 triangles, never repeat in columns but each bookend a row. Love the thought that went into the arrangement - plus - the water pouring is so fun and whimsical!
This reminds me of the some of the choral presentations done during the pandemic with singers/musicians in boxes (virtual, however!). Plus…those of us in the States of a certain age may recall a TV show with this same grid opening!
Love the willingness to try a new technique - and it does appear that your spouse is handed a new project for every shoot! |

I live on the 16th (and top) floor of a condominium and love that I'm up so high. That said, I have more than one friend who won't go near my windows and clearly not out on my balcony even when enticed with cocktails and dinner with commanding views of 3 states!
The close crop is magical and I totally agree about not using B&W. The shift in color and tint adds to the feel of a vortex (matrix?) draws the eye deep into the black hole!
Great job - and so fun to find such an interesting subject in a very ordinary place! The joy of street photography. |

Great eye for what reminds me of a Fibonacci sequence! After looking/reading at the comments above I have to say that my initial "vote" for the B&W image lost out to Sabine's rendering in color.
I'm attending a webinar on Lightroom (check out Tim Grey if you're interested) and today we covered tone and color. The color highlights really enhance the photo. |

I really enjoy seeing other folks' homework! There's something intriguing in learning how people interpret assignments and how they satisfy the requirements. The triptych is terrific - and to use lavender further engages the memory of a scent. My only comment is that I would have liked to see more of the flower with an increased DOF especially in the first photo. |
