Does anyone else have this song in their head looking at this photo?

It's interesting (to me!) that I see the light emanating from the rock/shore and beaming to the sun -- perhaps reflected off and back to us. The red on the water's edge is red hot and blasting the beam to the sun. I like that it creates movement and energy that way.
As always -- I love the description of how you play with images in LR and Photoshop! |

Yvonne is right: this is a wonderful backdrop for camera store ad -- would also make a nice desktop photo for a computer/table screen! |

I've been in the Kimmel many times (live just south in Wilmington) and I find the architecture and design almost too much to take in. I really like that you are giving me a small piece to enjoy.
The photo class I've mentioned has architecture as the focus for the unit I'm on. I wish I had taken this picture!! Homework done! |

So much going on in this photo -- and coverting to black & white as genius -- totally changes the feel. The contrast between the adult and child's shoes/stocking/clothing is terrific! Boots vs. sparkling flats -- the frilly dress vs the grown up print -- I really like it!
Taste is relative, but our relatives aren't! |

I'm late to the party this month -- and didn't "cheat" by reading Savbine's "how I did this" note beforehand.
Two things strike me immediately: 1. -- the colors are gorgeous; and 2. -- the spheres appear to be floating. I can't discern a surface plane.
So beautiful! |

Hi folks! Thank you for your comments -- and I'd say up front that I struggled with the cropping at the top and also the bright flag at the bottom. My attempt was to show the scale of the tower by not cropping tight (don't think I succeeded!) and the flag was really that stark in contrast so I decided to leave it.
I took the photo on Dec 30 at 7:30 at night -- it was VERY dark -- no hint of sunset!
Settings: ISO 6400, 70 mm, f/8.0, 1.3 sec.
The course I'm taking is self-paced with an assigned mentor -- it's basic photography and offered (included with membership fees) with PSA!
Thanks again,
Doug |
