Linda, Now that you mention it, you're right about the crop. Glad to hear the house was of interest. I'll also reconsider the sign, Thank you for your comments. |

Jim, I agree with the group about the blurred background enhancing the leaves and growing toward the sun. The original shows your thought in capturing this shot leading to the upward angle of Spring Growth. I'd suggest adding more of the branch's curves including the tip. Here's my rough edit. Lovely image. |

Thanks for sharing the original. You made good choices with the crop and enhancing the colors. It also brings more attention to the inner tubes. |

Sabine, I shared the sign because it harked back to earlier times. And it is a little quirky. However, I see how it could be distracting. Thank you for your comments. |

Jim, I'm wondering if the bridge operator works from the left tower on top rather than the house. It looks a little sturdier. But hey...it's Chicago. Yes, Sylvia did a great job! Thanks for your comments. |

Sylvia, You did a really good job in lightening the image! I may have to investigate the bridge operator procedures :) Thank you for your comments. |

Randy, I've only seen barges and sightseeing boats on the river. Nothing really tall. I'll try masking and lightening the dark areas. It'll be a good exercise to learn more about Photoshop. Thanks for your comments. |

Randy, First of all I like your winter scene. The bench initially caught my eye suggesting a peaceful space for contemplation. I like a combination of Jim's edits of lightning the leaves and stones a little with your edit of the trees with snow.
Wishing you inspiration to start clicking! |

Sylvia, I love the hula outfit. It suggests a little dancing after all those margaritas. Did you use cookies for the top? I'd suggest removing the stray salt in the bottom foreground and the spot on the lime on the glass rim. Maybe remove the one grass string pointing up. On second thought the skirt's stray grass may suggest exhilaration. Great job in meeting your Summer Challenge. |

Linda, Urban Embrace is perfectly named. The building's lighting has an inviting warmth especially the lights behind the green blinds. As Douglas mentioned it's interesting viewing the interactions between the people. Linda, your words also help to tell the story of urban community life. Love the lively colors and the human connections or not. |

Douglas, Frog Meadow makes me smile thinking of fun times. I'm also looking for Tom Sawyer to appear. The greens are so peaceful and reflected beautifully in the water. The foreground is vibrant with spots of light shining. Was this from the radiant masks? I'd like to see the original. Frog Meadow encourages daydreaming and calmness. Sounds like a great trip! |

Sabine, The Bremerhaven tall ships are majestic! I'd also love to hear their history. Your crop adds more to the story bringing attention to individuals in the small boats. I'm guessing they're visiting the tall ships? I like the gray filter which gives the image a cinematic look. I would suggest to include more of the ship on the left as in the original and maybe add more foreground to imply ships are moving forward. |
