It's burning in the sky and on the water.
You've captured the situation beautifully.
I would intensify the red even more and crop the top and bottom of the image slightly. But that's just a suggestion.
Thank you for this further impression of the Netherlands. |

I have often seen St. Michael's Church in the dark, as I lived in Hamburg for many years.
For some time now, the churches have no longer been illuminated due to energy-saving measures.
So I was all the more surprised when I saw the yellow light.
Incidentally, this is the stadium light. Directly behind St. Michael's Church is the Millerntor Stadium, the home stadium of FC St. Pauli. |

The bright lights on the pier are definitely too glaring.
I'll definitely dim them a little, Yvonne. Thanks for your suggestion.
Even if you're not interested in model railways, Miniatur Wunderland is still amazing. |

The yellow glow behind St. Michael's was definitely luck, Douglas.
There's a soccer stadium right behind St. Michael's. The lights were on there that day. I found that out on the internet.
Thanks for your comment about the lights by the water. I'll take up your idea. |

I lived in Hamburg for many years and think Hamburg is always worth a visit.
The city has a lot to offer: a large harbor, great architecture (especially the stairwells), and museums. The next time I'm in Hamburg, I'll go looking for new photo motifs. |

Thanks, Sylvia, for your comments. I took a few photos at Miniatur Wunderland, but with so many people and the changing light, it was difficult, and I didn't get any satisfactory pictures. I packed my camera away rather quickly, feeling a bit frustrated. Then I came out of the building and saw this cityscape. |

Yvonne, Thank you for your recommendation and this unusual subject.
Interactive exhibitions always fascinate me, and you've done a fantastic job of bringing your idea to life. The conversion to black and white immediately reveals your intention: to depict your nephew's enthusiasm.
Now, I must admit that I only read your description of the image later.
I wanted to emphasize those colors in the original right away.
Your nephew is definitely more visible in your photo, though.
Perhaps you'll like my edit, too. |

Randy, what a fantastic landscape shot! All roads lead to Mt. Hood, guided by the road, the river, and also by the valley.
I had to Google where the mountain is. It's a stratovolcano.
Very interesting.
I like your chosen format, the division into two-thirds landscape and one-third volcano and background. Your image exudes so much tranquility, I really like that.
I used automatic tonal correction, reduced the brightness, and increased the contrast a bit.
What do you think of these minimal changes?
I'm already looking forward to seeing your sunset or sunrise photos. |

Jim, congratulations on this wonderful shot!
I've also worked this way a few times and know how much work goes into a single image.
Your description sounds easy and simple, but it takes a lot of practice to take such a great picture!
Perhaps it's just an illusion-is the center of the flower really in the center of the image?
I'd love to see more of these creative ICM photos. |

Sylvia, I think you have a very good eye for arranging objects.
Your still life immediately evoked a Christmas atmosphere for me.
The chosen colors, red and gold, contribute to this, as do the selected objects and the natural-looking materials.
My suggestion would be to crop the image more tightly.
Then the vase would be the focal point. Overall, I brightened the image a bit and intensified the colors. Perhaps you'll like my suggestion.
I'd also be interested to know how you set up your lighting. |

Douglas, that's a wonderful chandelier you photographed.
Stylishly integrated into a Christmas decoration. I can easily imagine what the rest of the interior looks like.
Since you asked for suggestions, I edited the picture.
It was just a few minor changes. I intensified the colors, especially the red and yellow, and removed the blue from the glass pendant.
Then I freely transformed the image, stretching the chandelier slightly. Perhaps you'll like my suggestion.
The book covers are simply eye-catching, with beautiful ornaments and carefully chosen colors. |
