Linda, I can see warm, appealing shades of blue and orange, honey-colored wood and vibrant green, dark moss on light stones. Despite the vivid colors, the door and its surroundings show their age.
All the lines are correctly aligned, the door knocker is centered, only the orange bow is out of place.
Who hung it there and why? Here, the viewer can begin his journey, letting his imagination run wild.
Thank you for this insight into historic Saint Michaels. |

Seeing the dogs in action was really impressive.
Unfortunately, when taking photos, I had to decide between photographing the dogs herding or the landscape.
It's hard to believe how quickly a herd can approach you, leaving you standing there hoping that your camera settings are correct.
Thanks for your comments, Jim. I will definitely continue to edit the dog herding photo. |

Yvonne, Unfortunately I didn't have my super wide-angle lens with me! I would have liked to show more of the surroundings in the photo, but it is what it is.
I had the lens with me on other walks. However, it's not as easy as it is for Ian Plant to find a suitable foreground. I'm working on it and thank you for your comments. |

Thank you for your comments, Douglas.
Images like this warm my heart. Not only because I was able to photograph the scene, but because these places still exist at all. |

Yvonne, I would have immediately pulled out my cell phone for this motif. The editing has created a fairytale scene that I think is wonderful.
You might also like my idea of editing the original photo. I changed the format slightly, increased the saturation a little and made the swan in front a little brighter with the dodge tool.

Douglas, What an idea to walk through your surroundings with your eyes open and photograph something unusual. Great!
If I look closely, I can see what you wrote about it. The stickers are neatly stuck on straight, the space has been used well,
no sticker has been stuck over. So the actual message remains visible to everyone (if you know it). Unfortunately, I don't know the meaning of the stickers, and the artificial intelligence I used to search didn't find any information about the stickers.......
So I just let my eyes wander, read, thought and finally answered the question of the most beautiful one for me. The magical fox is my favorite sticker.

Randy, you have an eye for architecture.
Well seen angles, shapes, shadows and above all a point of view that emphasizes the height. Well done!
I'm not an architectural photographer myself and black and white is a real supreme discipline in editing.
I wondered what the right-hand side of the building would look like. That's why I used Photoshop to mirror part of it. Maybe you'll like it. It's also just a creative suggestion.
By the way, I also like Yvonne's idea.

Bright colors, sharpness on the butterfly and the blossoms, a wonderful summer nature photo for me, Sylvia.
I have no suggestions for improvement. Maybe I would leave a little more space at the top, but apart from that everything is great.

A wonderful mushroom picture, still sharp even in the crop! Jim, you've managed to capture the mushroom wonderfully. The many lines make the image interesting. The blurred light background leads from left to right towards the mushroom. The rest of the background is dark and this makes the mushroom stand out. The bark allows the viewer to recognize where the mushroom has grown. For me, the surroundings are an essential part of a nature photo. Very well done!
I only changed a few details, such as lightening the mushroom a little and choosing a slightly larger crop.
Maybe you like my adjustments.

Sylvia, Thank you for your kind words.
We didn't travel far this time and were surprised ourselves at the number of interesting photos.
It was exciting to see the shepherd dogs in action.
The Harz fox in the image reacted immediately to every sign from the shepherd.
Sometimes it was a whistle, sometimes just a barely visible hand movement.
