Doug, this is Hollow Larkspur. Red and white Hollow Larkspur always grow together. Sometimes you are lucky and you can take a photo of a bumblebee too. |

Jim, That's a great landscape shot. I like the composition, the reflections in the water and the colors. Sorry, I don't have any ideas concerning reinforcing the mist.
I hope it is ok with you that I darkened the lights and increased the contrast a little bit.
By the way - have you ever tried to take a photo with fogged lens. It does have a special effect.

Doug, Always interesting looking at a street photo and reading the story behind. You really captured a normal life situation. I like the way the men were looking into your camera. To me they look happy and behave completely normally - no posed situation. Well done!
I hope it is ok with you that I cropped the photo to a square, increased the colors and darkened the lights.

Sylvia, This Iris has wonderful colors that are made even more beautiful by the black background. It is consistently sharp. Well done!
I hope it is ok with you that I cropped the image a little bit. I kept the square and now the Iris fills the whole image.

Cindy, I am at a loss for words! This is a fantastic image! As Tom already wrote - it has everything. This trip to Alaska was really worth it.
The swirling colors of the aurora are overwhelming.
I am going to northern Scotland in November hoping to see and photograph the Northern lights.

Sylvia, I like the way you edited may image. Thanks a lot for your effort. Removing the white spots on the left and lightening the snail, brings it even more into focus. |

Yvonne, Looking at the original I thought someone had photographed the result of a painting activity at a children's birthday party.
A second look at the edited photo and your description brought clarity. I discovered the Palestinian flag and some other work of arts of children.
I can`t see children, but I can see part of a child's hand and shoe. So they were there.
I really like your post processing very much. The colors shine bright. I can imagine happy children painting there. But there is a shadow over everything…
Great image!

Linda, What I see are many contrasts in your picture, which are generally mentioned in the title. Not only the colors black and white, but also the contrasting behavior of men and women. The focus is on the man who has already finished his shopping, while the young women are on their way to go shopping. Their energy and the movement become visible because almost every one of them has a foot in the air.
Of course the young girls are in a hurry, the stores are waiting. The man carries two bags, the women will certainly come back with many more bags.
I can hear the women chattering as they go shopping, the man must have been out alone.
That's how I see your picture. I really like it, it tells a story when you take your time to look at it. Great image!
In Germany, you are not allowed to photograph a single person on the street. You have to have his / her consent. What is it like in the United States?

Jim, Thanks a lot for your comments. I did some adjustments in photoshop, but the image - on my screen - is slightly lighter overall.
I will try again to lighten it up even more. |
