12 May 23 Comment Thanks Lee Ann. Silver Efex is black and white. May 15th
12 May 23 Reply You are right about their not being many shadows. Since I was late to the game this month, I had to search through my files. May 11th
12 May 23 Comment I had no idea that was there. Thanks for the tip. May 11th
12 May 23 Comment Barbara, you really put a lot of thought into this with a successful result. I think it's very clever what you did with the shadowed flower. It really does stand out against the desaturated rock. Was the desaturated rock the same color as the rocks where the plant emerges? It looks different and the transition is rather abrupt. I may have tried to lighted the darker rock or clone the desaturated rock to make it more cohesive. Don't know if that would work for you. Good catch while you were on your hike. May 8th
12 May 23 Comment Lee Ann, I lived in Arizona for only two years and love anything that makes me reminisce about my time. I'm glad that you waited for the prom kids to leave, as there is no distraction, only the fascinating lines and shapes and shadows. I like your composition. If anything, I would have liked to see more. There is a lot of movement with the varying degrees of lines and spaces. The visual elements are strong. I think it's a very energetic image. May 8th
12 May 23 Comment One of the first lessons I learned when I took up photography was to look up and behind. I don't always remember this advice, but I'm glad that you did. This is striking. What is SFX High Contrast? I'm a fan of Silver Efex Pro, but am not familiar with SFX. I can't tell if your highlights are blown or your blacks are clipped, but does it really matter? The graphic lines create an abstract image that is original and fresh. Great job Connie! May 8th
12 May 23 Comment Chane, this certainly has the Wow effect. There is so much to study and dwell on in this picture. I have to ask you about the Gold Reflector. Is that in Nik Color Efex? I did't see it. The enhancement of the golden touch adds to the ambiance of the image. I'm thinking you replaced the sky. You chose one that works well with the overall image. This east coast woman is envious of your glorious mountains. May 8th
12 May 23 Reply Carole, you should retry Silver Efex. I really like the results. May 8th
12 May 23 Comment I can feel your grand-daughter's excitement. You caught her arms and the lift of her shoe just at the right moment. I liked the original because it gave me more of a sense of the location and of others gathering to pick fall pumpkins. I cropped it to a 16x9 eliminating some of the sky and your daughter's legs. I would also suggest using the clone tool and getting rid of some of the brown sticks in the grass. Fun times for kids. You captured it well. May 8th
