Just an idea, since it is a largely still subject, if you were not carrying a wide lens, then you could have dealt with the situation by taking a few overlapping images. Now software like lightroom will merge them, and it works with handheld images.
As it stands, I like that you left the moat and the leaves in the foreground, but the composition is still too tight for my liking. |

Works well, matter of taste- I guess. I personally don't prefer barrel distortion, so it does look odd to me. |

I love it, next time I'm on The Wirral, I should sit down with you and learn compositing, something I have wanted to learn for a long time, but never seem to get arround to doing it.
