Most Japanese aspire to learn English, and the few I know or met tell me that generally Japanese people find English difficult to learn and are more comfortable with written English than with spoken English. No wonder there are English Bookshops! But this one was at a tourist spot so maybe catering to tourists. Signs of prices etc were in Japanese, so must be frequented by locals as well. I just found Japan such a fascinating country! Wish I had more time to spend on photography. They generally don't mind being photographed, so it is a great place for street photography.

Just a quick edit in the Windows photo app, I guess would have looked better if I had done it in LR or Photoshop.

I like your idea of cropping the trees; the points of interest are the water and the leaves on the ground. Also added a some contrast as Wes suggested. See if yu like this. |

Thanks Wes, yes the lady is crucial to the composition, I also though that the name of the shop with prices in Yen, was interesting. |
