73 Jan 26 Reply Thanks Sherry, I always try to capture an image the keeps the viewer interested and looking through the image. And all the credit for the image does go to Mother Nature. Jan 17th
73 Jan 26 Reply Thanks for your feedback Ian. I appreciate that you also see the colors as highlighting the barrenness of the area. Jan 17th
73 Jan 26 Comment Larry, a very nice image and I can understand the mood you were trying to establish. I think there may be too much color for a fall or dust bowl theme, but in B&W it might work very well. I might also suggest a crop of the top and bottom to help highlight the windmill and vane. 73 Jan 26 Comment Ian, I think it's an awesome image and has all the composition elements of foreground, mid, and background with the sky. I occasionally reprocess older images, but my compositional skills then don't match yours of the same time period. I do prefer the color version and feel the B&W image doesn't have enough contrast. 73 Jan 26 Comment A fabulous image Raymond. I like the B&W version which brings out the contrast and really adds interest to the sky. The lighting on the hoodoo is well done to bring out detail and make it a point of interest. Great composition and work in post. Jan 17th
73 Jan 26 Comment Dave, you've captured a great image that does require attention to our surroundings and the patience to stop and get an image. I agree with some of the comments, especially reducing the shadows a bit in the foreground to add some detail and interest. Congratulations on capturing and image in a fleeting moment. Jan 17th
73 Jan 26 Comment A great image Butch. I can understand the challenges of post work on the image as there is great light on the walls, but deep shadows in the valley. Great job of getting both adjusted. I also do denoise first in Lightroom, based on a Julieanne Kost video. I'll have to try the adaptive color setting as well, thanks for the advice. I also think the sky adds greatly to the image as an upper frame of the valley walls. Jan 17th
73 Jan 26 Comment A very nice image Sherry, I like the colors on the horizon and sky and the large cumulus cloud which draws my attention. I like the foreground, sea in the middle and the sky for a background. It's a great shot and a great place to visit. Jan 17th
