I like the composition Ian, the long exposure keeps the image looking calm and like I would expect with a nice sunrise. I like the centered water as it leads my eye into the image and the horizon. The sky has clouds for interest as well. If I were to make any suggestion, it might be to do a graduated linear mask on the sky to darken it slightly from the top. |

What a great image Ray. It took a lot of work to get the final image as you've presented it. I like the version you posted with the less dense star trails as I think the aurora is the center of attention. There's a nice reflection in the water and the boats and water create an interesting foreground. |

I like your image Dave and while it offers simplicity with the lake bed, I think the dark cloud in the upper left adds tension and an expectation of "weather" coming. On first look, the lake bed appears to be flat and barren, but there might be more to it if you venture out with your eyes open. As always, photography can turn into an unexpected adventure, glad you had a 4x4. |

Really nice shot Butch. Sometimes a quick response without preplanning can get the best shot while the action is at peak. I like the rainbow and its position over the valley below it. I also like the lower right foreground with the saguaro cactus. They add contrast and interest to the image. |

A great image Sherry. I think the city is interesting and nicely done. I have never been to Iceland, so the city is surprising for me and looks clean and inviting. I like your view from the church to get so much of the city and water. I would probably crop the sky to get a balance of 1/3 sky and 2/3 city. |

Thanks Ian, I had worked on this image some time ago and as my eye gets better, I try new things with previous images. This one has been worked on several times and I think I have a final image that I like. Thanks for your note on the elephant image. I got that this past spring in Botswana. |

Thanks Ray, I haven't tried Nik as a tool yet. I'll check it out as I'm trying to do more work with B&W images. |

I've been to this location several times and depending on the sun, clouds, and wind each day is vastly different. It does require some work to get a composition with an area like this and some post work with cropping to get an acceptable image. |

Thanks for your comments Dave. I realize that I need to have an image that I like with the post work to enhance the image the way I like. I appreciate all the input and different ideas to help me try new things. |

Thanks for your work on the image Butch. You did more cropping which was interesting. I had cropped to have the center dune providing a leading line. Good things to think about. |
