Thanks for the feedback Butch. The mood just happened, rather than something I thought about. I just captured what was there. I appreciate the positive feedback on the image. |

Peter, a great image and I like the conversion to B&W. The leading lines of the rocks pulls the viewer into the image and the large formations in the distance. I see water between the rows of rocks and the appearance is of a sandy, difficult area to move through. I like the perspective, keeping Butch's comments in mind, of the camera elevation that show just a bit of open water after the rows of rocks and before the formations. |

Welcome Ray, you've started with a great image. I like the foreground rocks and the perch of the lighthouse atop the bluff. The sun is an immediate draw for my eye and the dark clouds overhead hold my eye down and in the image. Obviously it took the patience and early arrival you mentioned, well done. |

A great image Butch and the colors are striking. The horses grazing provides a very calm, idyllic setting that draws the viewer into the scene. Many years ago, a judge of one of my photo's saw a fence and told me it can create a barrier between the viewer and the scene. I don't know if you've heard that or tried a photo without the photo. While I followed the advice for a while, I now use a fence when it fits the scene. The fence in this image keeps the image of horses in a pasture rather than on the prairie. There's just so much to like throughout the image, including your old homestead. |

Hi Sherry, I think it's a great image. I think you've done well with the colors. I have the usual red/green color deficiency, so this would be a challenging image for me to do post on. The colors, especially greens seem well done for my eye and I appreciate you've taken an older image and redid it with the new LR/PS toolset. I think the composition is well done without much room for my eye to wander except up and down. I like the stream at the bottom for an anchor. |
