Thanks for your comments Dave. I hope to return to the area later this fall and will try a number of new approaches thanks to all the feedback on this image. |

Thanks Peter, I'm planning some additional work to take your thoughts into mind and see what other perspectives might add to the image. |

A brilliant image Peter. I really like the foreground with the position of the camera and the light across the grasses. I think the reduction of shadows on the lighthouse and building add to their interest versus being only silhouettes. Very nice work and a great result. |

I loved the colors and appreciate the effort by the city to have a celebration like that and to you for your ability to adjust your settings to get the most out of each image. The work you've done in both the capture and post is impressive. I can't offer any suggestions for improvement. |

Dave, a really nice composition and in reading your description, it involved a lot of pre planning to decide how the capture the image as you wanted it. For me, there are 3 layers in the image, the desert, the mountains and the sky, with each bringing something interesting for my eye. |

Butch, it seems you've done a great job with the 100-500 lens and using it to compress the image. It does a great job of making the setting sun a key component in the image. It provides a number of layers within the image with the cactus, mountain ranges, sky, and finally the sun. Really great colors and great image. |

Thanks for your feedback Sherry, I've been looking for waterfalls and streams with rocks or channels to try more long exposure shots. This particular area is somewhat challenging to reach, but lots of opportunities to work on long exposures. |

Thanks for the feedback, it helps me look at my images differently and see how I might improve the original capture and more ideas for post processing. |

It's a lovely image Sherry. I like the foreground rocks, which are in focus, that lead to the arching bay and pulls my eye right to the cloud formation, particularly the bright cumulus clouds. The reflection in the water is a nice plus for the image. Very well done and creates a sense of nostalgia for a scene that is now gone as a result of the hurricanes. |

Hi Butch, I appreciate your revision of the image. I have a number of images and choose the one I submitted because it had the water continuing down the river to the next falls and showed the long exposure effect passing over the rocks. The area to the left was a cliff and just a short circle till the water all headed downstream. I hadn't caught the idea of the water on the falls going left and the river going right. I have a number of other images from that day and will go back and review them to see if I can take advantage of the "circle" of the water from the falls. Thanks for your feedback, it's very helpful. |
