I really like the image Ian and my first impression came from looking down the road. I like the scene composed from the shoulder of the road as it makes me feel like I'm there on a hike. I've not used IR, but do like many of the results I've seen from others and this is a great example. I looked at different crops also, but my personal preference is like yours, with the fence line at the lower corner of the image. I like lines at the corners, whether a fence, tree branch, flower, that's just a preference I have. |

Hi Sherry, I like your image and it makes me feel like I'm in a dense forest area. My first look into the image was the center at mid-frame. I didn't see the "Schmear" until I looked around the image. I've had some strange artifacts added to several images after using an earlier version of Topaz DeNoise. Sometimes our tools do their own thing. I like the image and imagine the altitude was challenging on hikes. Did you like Costa Rica and would you return? |

Sunflowers are a favorite subject of mine, but I've not seen a field like this. It's a beautiful image and the height the photo was taken from makes the sunflowers really striking. I like the faint trees in the background and the sky really adds to the overall image. |

Fabulous image Peter and a great location. My eye followed the water up to the mountains and then the snow. When I looked right, I saw the houses. That led me to look at the suggestion Butch made and it did get my eyes on the houses first and then the mountain. I like both and it's a photographers preference on the most appealing composition. Very nicely done. |

Thanks for your suggestion Sherry. I also had trouble with the lower left and eliminated most of the lights and distractions there. I'll also try to reduce or eliminate all the red lights. |

Hi Butch, I like your version of the photo and will try a few of your changes. It was a great learning experience and we really enjoyed the hikes up the hills. The best shots were the first night, a Monday, when the observatory was closed and there were fewer people to try to erase with the long exposure. However, the second night I had learned from what I did the first night and the overall result was better, but again, more people. |
