Peter, great photo with good foreground, middle, and background. It's an image that I can look at for a period of time to find the different points of interest; pelican, trees, shoreline, and mountains. I didn't feel a need to crop in any tighter, but like the grand scale of the image. |

Ian, such an interesting photo and the inclusion of the boat really adds perspective to the mountains and the walls along the river. I like the colors and the detail is great for such a large scale. The water on the bottom give the boat room to travel without feeling crowded. |

Dhananjay, I like the BW treatment you've given the photo. The 3 tree trunks are the proper number for interest and if I were to do anything it would be cropping a bit on the top, bottom, and right to get in a bit closer and to move the focus to the right side of the composition. |

Dave, I thought the image was well done and well composed. The colors and detail are great. If I would make any changes, I would crop the top a bit and the bottom to eliminate the bright foreground or darken the foreground. But that is my personal taste and your image and post processing decisions are great. |

Butch, I like the image and understand that with night photography the image will have characteristics that seem abnormal, such as bright areas from light painting. I've tried several photo's with light painting and have no awards to show for it, so it takes effort to be successful. I follow the "National Parks at Night" YouTube channel and they have lots of tips and pointers for all the things we face with night photography. I think the image is well worth entering in one of the Phoenix area competitions where you'll have people that have tried to get shots like yours. |

Sherry, a beautiful sunset image with the sailboat as a silhouette with the sunset behind. I'm okay with the shoreline and understand your reasoning. I like the sunset colors that are reflected in the water and that would be enough for me with or without the shoreline. |

Thanks for the feedback and ideas Butch. The ice was all along the shore and I brought my tripod, but chose not to use it. I was kneeling to get low enough and cropped the bottom portion of the photo to eliminate most of the ice. |
