Ruth - my impression of sand dollars when I view them is always about the texture. Here the sfot color seems to produce the texture, not the sharpness. I am OK with the main grainy focus on the read dollar, because each dollar seems to have different light on it. I like the black background also - it is different from the usual presentation of these guys. |

Karen - This is the way A delicate orchid should be - so soft and delicate. You are the master of showing all the deatil yet keeping the soft bloom, and also gtting the background absolut black. I wish I could do that! -Melissa |

Nadia - pretty scary stuff. This is my favorite kind of manipulation. The finished image is nothing like the starting image, except it has the tree. That treatment of the sky tells us that you are truly a "Master" of sky work. I am also curious where you get your birds. They are wonderfully grouped. The texture of the foreground is very good, especially with the additional debris. This is a great work! Thank you. |

Tom - it is a good thing he is on the shoulder or he would be a flat-man. All about him is perfect. And I feel that the background vehicles are just right to tell the story. Wouldn't it be fun if he were just coming out of the pavement instead of having an open road grate? |

Ah Hazel - it is the MOOD of this glass of wine that is realy captivating. And, of course, the sunset colors anr beautiful. But another thing I particularly like is the suggestion that the entire background (is that a tree line) is up in the glass. It looks like a lake, plus land, plus trees plus sky. Very creative shot. |

Brad - I like the image. The idea is really good. The disconnect is the foggy look on top and the sharp detail on the bottom. Perhaps smudging some columns from the top downward, and cloning some of the sharp-edged grasses up alove might make the 2 halves play better together. THe light and water in these images are really good. |

Hi Ed - Interesting image. How can that rock balance itself like that?!? Mark is right - a bit too much contrast. But the range of greys is nice. |
