Charissa - amazing crispness for ISO 20. It's a lovely image with beautiful light and focus - I especially find the textures of both the flower and also the leaves behind it very good. For me, I would love to see some of those leaves cloned into that lower right area with the soil - it would complete the bouquet. |

Lori - My hubby was bearing down on me with the lawn mower... I was sitting on the ground, and the siding of the house was behind this beauty, I had my Olympus M10 Mark-2 out, and had an ISO of 1250 because I was shooting into a tree cavity before this. So this was a grab shot at f/8 and 1/60th. Wish my tripod had been handy!! |

Ruth - I tried several different backgrounds - the mushroom is a funny color and nothing seemed to look goo with it. |

What an enlightening cultural exchange. It is hard to imagine how this can happen with colored sand and be so perfect. The release ceremony must be beautiful too. Thanks for relating the experience.
As to the photo - that is a nice PJ shot. I would have loved to see sand in the horn. You sure got the bright colors right. |

What can I say about this? It is a great close-up. Even the square aspect is complimentary. For me, I would like to see a bit of lightening right under the center bud where it is so dark. Just a little brush work could bring that out (but only a tiny bit!) |

Lori - for me, this is the best visualization of the hanging icicles. They are hard to get the light right on, and I think you captured the light correctly to bring out all the blue, and still keep them translucent. Allowing just enough of the rock texture behind them was perfect for giving them some earthly reference. And I find the round vignette very nice. |

Karen - you are correct went you say that you got this one right! It made me clean my computr screen to view it. There is not a spot on it that sticks out - perfect light.
I like Lance's idea about creating a 'gallery' of veggies - if you do that, I would be in market to buy it!!!
Just sensational - planning and attnention to all the details really paid off for you!

Oh Gunter - this is REALLY creative. When I view it - I do know what it is about. But the TITLE is what made me laugh the loudest. It is a nice job handling the various filter programs and still maintaining the integrity of the 2 subjects.

Lisa - this is adorable! What a great idea. This is a lot of 'cutting out', but well worth it. This gave me some ideas. I would LOVE to see just ONE parchute starting to open. Please submit more of these very creative idea development shots. |

Tom - the melding of the 2 scenes worked out well. I like the placement of your church on the right because the heavy hill - highest object in the scene - "feels" better on the left. Your work with the layers brought the cows into viewing range - nice touch. Your treatment of the light is stunning - darken sky for moodiness above, and "spotlight" effect in front of the church. For me, there is a lovely story here. |

Brian - this is Christmas card perfect - the whimsey of the maple leaves on left and starbursts in the tree is magic. All it needs is a small pine on the left lawn with colored twinkle lights - card ready!!! Truly, this is a good treatment of the light here, which could not have been easy because of the stripe of light in the foreground, and in front of the stone building on the left. You got it all into a nice level of detail and shadow showing all the details. Makes me want to visit there. |

Hazel - thanks for the tip about making snow - I always found that difficult - we don't get much snow in Arkansas USA. Except yesterday, when we got 13 inches. I am going out now to collect some snow inages. And I will follow your lead this afternoon and make an animal snow scene. Mine will not be as good as yours, but I really appreciate the inspiration - thank you. Your fox is a lovely image. |

Brad - I think the cut-out job on your daughters is excellent. And how you turned the shadow in the original into a woody-looking walkway is really great. As a study in color I feel you captured the 'spooky' aspect of the original lighting in the placement and colors of the girls apparel. You created a real portentious and uncertain atmosphere here. |

Charles - I just had to comment on this. I am envious of your patience in disecting a tangerine section. I wanted to say that for me, the abstract nature of the section all alone in the image, with no other objects and no context worked perfectly. I was forced to look at every single juice bead. What a great image! - Melissa Sonnen DDG-41 |

Ed - Ed is right - you did it again. The color is nice, but the sky does nothing to contribute to the photo,. BUT - the mono really makes the scene pop and also lets the clouds play an important part now. Nice stitching job too! |

Ed - I took your advice. The black sky is certainly different. I have mixed feelings - the black is stunning and I like it, and I still like the stand-out clouds too. I am not sure which I like better... |

OMG Ed - this is the funniest thing I have seen in weeks!!! I think this would lose the effect in color - it is WONDERFUL! And photographically, it is great too. I like the lack of shadows because it makes all the sand look homogenous. Great shot - I wish it were mine! |
