GuUnter - I was paging through the DDG groups for something new, and found this image - WOW - it makes me want to look up Mirrorlab and Onelab right away.
I love the gentleness of the color interplay. I also find the 'framing' of the orange wave with the yellow is quite nice. I will stop by again to see others in the future. Thanks.

David - I'm in a Mono group, but I look at most groups each month. I had to comment on this image. I think it is spectacular. I "free-view" 3d images, and when I looked at this one, the bug just popped out at me, and the lily has extreme depth. WOW. All that-and the photographic elements are great - color, placement, background, focus. I think this one is just sensational.

Ed - I am sorry this is the last in the series you are going to post. You know I love these images. This one, much different from the others, is perhaps the most emotional for me, and your portrayal truly brings out the plight of the young people coming in at that time.l Wonderful image- well captured. |

Stacey - I was not sure that this one would fly as a Mono. I did try to go to a close detail several times, but it bacAme totally abstract. The poor guy lost his identity. I will be sticking with the color image. This is why I love this group so much - We can get honest opinions from knowledgeable photographers to help us before we make mistakes in competition. Thank you VERY MUCH! |

Stacey - I agree with you 100%. The mono really makes all that texture pop. Something else I like is the bandaged hand of the girl. It gives the top some balance, and the fringe in the lower left brings your eye there too. I would not change a thing here. |

Ed - this is a remarkabl image, both in color and mono. The mono looked very dark to me, and I zoomed in to study the detail. Then I just touched the "shadow/highlight" tool in PS, and the image came to life. I can find no other comment, because I find this one near perfect.
For competition, it might beinteresting to use the mono, and make the white shirt of the one guy up top into a bright crimson. Wouldn't that be fun?? |

Giovanna - First, I love the crop becaue the buildings remain, but there is just enough of the tables to show this as a piazza, without being overwhelmed by tables. The details in the buldings are beautiful.I might like to see some darkening and contrast added to the image to bring out the building details more. This seems kind of "sun-washed" to me. I think a bolder statement here might look really nice. It also might really make those moody clouds 'pop'. |
