I have been in Florida since February 1st taking care of a seriously ill brother and did not bring my external storage drives. I took dozens of photos of wild horses on that PSA trip and did not realize I already submitted this image. I would like to apologize to the entire group for this error. |

Your goal was to create a image showing motion blur. You selected a very good image for this technique. I don't think you should have converted it to sepia. Your model did a great job in giving you a good image to work with. You have the action, muscle tone, energy and great choice of outfit. You have the color needed to make the image pop and to create separation from the background. Her hair is blowing and her arms and legs show the presence of motion. You added an unnecessary element when you removed the color. This did not improve this particular image, blurred or not. I believe the worst thing you can do to a photo of a child would be to add texture to their face and/or body. Try moving until you get the proper natural lighting. |

Nick shot of a difficult subject to photograph. I think your crop is too tight. Try to crop just below the left ski which would allow us to see his foot and both skis. You might need to clone in a little background which would DQ you from PJ but would make a stronger pictorial image. If you are going for a PJ image, compromise by making the crop tighter to cut off the tip of the left ski (right side of view shown). This would eliminate the "rope like" perspective Bunny mentioned. The sharpness and vivid colors are strong elements and this would shift the focus the face of the skier. |

Amazing...capturing a bird in flight is difficult enough but to show him just before landing with a twig in his beak is great. Your editing skills are impressive. I would not have known that you manipulated the image if you had not told us. I am especially impressed because I zoomed in on his claws and could not see them in the original. Your cropping to include only those elements that are necessary to tell this story is outstanding. You asked for criticism. I have none. However, I will ask... would making a slight adjustment with the black slider in Lightroom add more detail to the left side of the wing of the bird just about to land??

Just beautiful. Capturing a peacock with all it's feathers on display is difficult. Your composition is great because there are no distractions. The photo was so well taken that the few adjustments you made were all that was needed. |

It's nice that you have joined our group. Your image is very interesting with some difficult challenges using only available light. Your adjustments were a good starting point and by taking advantage of feedback from Joan, your revision is a much stronger image. Your composition is excellent I look forward to seeing more of your work. |

Amazing image. You wanted an early sunrise and boy did you get it. The original shows more blue in the sky because it is a jpg file. By using the raw file for post processing we see what the jpg file could not reveal. It's sunrise and we can see the yellowish hue from the glow of the sun reflecting off the snow. The light and shadows are what make the image special. I don't see color manipulation of the sky....I see the effects of the sunlight on a blue sky. The sky is not the subject, the mountain is so I want to see as much of it as possible. Your adjustment are spot-on and I would not change a thing. Your shot makes me feel like I'm standing there next to you. It's a wonderful nature shot. |
