Your story tells me that Tiki was loved by your entire family. I don't think I would have noticed your clone of the "cry line" if you had not mentioned it. You asked "Does the photo capture the sweet temperament of an aging pet?" YES, ABSOLUTELY. I think you should print this image (as shown) and frame it (maybe 8x10) and give a copy to each of your children so they can treasure their memory of their loving pet Tiki to carry into adulthood with them. FANTASTIC IMAGE.
Note: We in the US view from left to right so you may want to flip it before printing so Tike is looking forward. |

Your composition is excellent. I like that you show a man leaving the image and a woman approaching. I especially like that you minimized the amount of post processing...you are correct, the original needed just a slight adjustment to add just the right amount of light where it was needed and you did not over do it. Fantastic image. |

Great shot, especially when you have not done any post processing. |

You took this photo in January so I would not expect to see fall colors. I think this shot is a very good candidate for
a great monochrome image since there is a very large range of color tones that would be optimized better in B/W. I like the perspective you took this shot from. I have been to this area several times but don't remember seeing it from this location. I especially like that you did not crop the image so we get the feel of what life was like when the area was first settled. They knew then how important it was to leave open park space (top left) for friends and neighbors to socialize. At least that is the story I see from your shot. |

Thank you for thinking of us. Let me take this time to also wish everyone a Happy New Year.
This image makes me think of Halloween but it's hard to find a specific subject to reflect an entire year. It was nice that you choose this image. I agree the image is cropped a little too tight at the bottom but I would not clone out the building in the background but it needs a little color, perhaps in a brown brick range. Great image. I like the bold tones.

Thank to each of you for your kind comments. I took the shot showing the flowers on the left and all the space on the right which is an important part of the story. The wall memorial give a perspective of all the lives lost in the conflict. Cropping minimises this part of the story I wanted to show.
I agree with Terry, this would also make a good B/W image but
I would not colorize any part of the image because it would change the mood that I wanted to convey. I agree that the adjustments on the color of the grass could be better. |
