Bob: What a perfect action photo that certainly tells a story. But, you didn't stop there. Your post-processing is spot on. I especially like the way you used layers to brighten the subject, darken the background and used a Gaussian blur on the background to enhance the subject. Without exception you have captured the heartbeat of the moment perfectly. |

Yamuni: This photo is all encompassing in your attention to detail. The black and white certainly enhances the story this photo tells. The amount of vignetting adds to the delicate complexity of this beautiful photo. |

Peter: This photo is extremely appealing to the eye. Your decision in post-processing to eliminate everything except the lighthouse and the flowers makes a beautiful composed photo. The lighting on the left is extremely bright. I agree with Bob. You may want to crop the left side and take some off the bottom for a more visually effective photo. Kudos to you for this wonderful photo. |

Yamuni: Thanks Yanuni. I agree the photo is well-timed and I do love the beauty of nature. I went back and checked my settings and the f-stop should read f/4.0 not f/40. It was a very bright day and I should have played with the ISO more. I appreciate your suggestions and will apply them in the future. Thanks. |

Bob: This particular photo was taken on an extremely bright day. I totally agree that the background should be darkened and perhaps given a blurred effect. The f/stop is a mistype. The f/stop is 4.0. I appreciate your suggestion about the ISO and f stop (f/11). The camera was focused on the wing. I really enjoy taking photos of insects and their environment. All of your suggestions are taken to heart for future outings. Thanks Bob. |

Howard: Yes, I agree an F40 is a high f-stop. Actually, I do not remember ever using an F40. Went back and checked my settings and it should be F4.0. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. |

Howard: Love this photo Howard. The colors compliment each other and the bokeh background certainly makes the flower stand out more. Your focus is spot on and you can even see the clarity of the dew and/or raindrops. I question a couple of things. #1 Why was your shutter speed 1/1000 sec and #2 I would like to see the green leaf in the lower right corner more muted. It's a beautiful leaf, but I think it takes away from the viewer's focus of the Dahlia. In all, a gorgeous photo of the Dahlia. |
