Napoleon: This is a beautiful composition that is only enhanced by the "blue hour".
The branches do frame the photo nicely and draws the eye in to the lined-up sailboats. Must admit the lone power boat is a bit distracting, especially since it does not show that it is tied down anywhere. Thank you for your explanation of the "blue hour". |

Howard: Your decision to do monochrome does justice to this photo. The lines are clean and certainly capture the viewer's attention. I am wondering why you used a 2,500 shutter speed on a stationary subject? Kudos for a great photo |

Bob: Love the silhouette. Although so much in photography is out of our hands, it would be nice to see the legs and tail of the elephant to make a more complete photo. Since this is not the case, I would crop a lot of the black out of the photo and try to lighten what the elephant is walking through-if that is possible. In all, a beautiful capture. |

Delian: The creativity of this photo makes me smile. Personally, I like the placement composition of the popcorn kernels. My only negative comment would be to watch your whites to maintain detail(s) and sharpness. Kudos to you for such a fun photo to view! |

Meredith: Thank you for the background story of this photo. For not being a "birder" you did pretty good in getting this photo at 400mm. That said, I do agree that a smaller f-stop would have given you a faster shutter speed that would have helped with the sharpness of the photo. Plus, as already mentioned, a white bird is difficult to shoot especially in direct sunlight without the feathers appearing blown out as indicated on the wing and neck of the Corella. Tweaking this photo in Lightroom would be worth it since it is such a nice capture. |

Peter: What a beautiful capture of this bird. The clarity and focus are outstanding, especially for someone that just bought their first DSLR camera. I really like the cropping that Meredith Bain did. The soft background emphasizes the minute details on the bird. If you do lighten the head, as Bob suggest, I would make sure that you can see the eye and perhaps put a white spot in the eye to complete this little beauty. In all, I love this photo. |
