Howard: The photo certainly makes more sense after I read your explanation. However, I would still crop out a little on the left side of the image for balance. And, also right above the shadow of the walkway at the bottom of the photo. I would also eliminate the white dot that is on the lower side of the upper walkway along with the blue reflection in the water below it. Love how everything maintains its detail throughout the photo especially with the various textures that are in the photo. |

Bob: The colors and the details are the first thing(s) that caught my eye. There is so much going on in this photo I am overwhelmed. Because this photo reflects customs and traditions associated with two holidays that I am not familiar with, I can only appreciate the image from a viewer's eye that does not understand what is going on. The focus is outstanding from the lotus in the front to the 3,000 homemade suites piled into pyramids. Your ability to capture everything and maintain focus is amazing. |

Peter: Any photo with children always tugs at my heart and this one is no different.
The colors are outstanding and the photo certainly does tell a story. I agree about the suggestions given by Howard and Bob. My only question is: What is a crop stout? The toe tip would be nice, but what bothers me more is the white (ghost image, fog?) that is in the photo between the pillars and the temple wall. Love the background information you included in your explanation of the photo. |

Lee Ann: I love this photo. The colors are great and the clarity is right on. I agree with all of the suggestions and would add two additional comments. First, along with darkening the man's boots, I would also darken the light blue object (denim pants?) that are next to the boots. Second, I would get rid of the white line(s) on the wall behind the second man's head and the white where his foot hits the wall. Each month I look forward to viewing all of the photos in our group and reading the suggestions from other photographers. Everyone is always so helpful! |
