37 Sep 23 Comment Howard: My ISO was so low because the seal seemed to just appear out of no where and caught everyone by surprise. I did not have time to change anything and "poof" he was gone. Under normal circumstances, my ISO would not have been so low. Thanks for asking. Sep 27th
37 Sep 23 Comment Howard: You can clearly see the ribs on these Brahma cattle which is certainly indicative of the difficult life they live.

I really like the dust that is evident in the lower left of the image along with the sharpness of the cattle. The background where the trees meet the sky is a little confusing to me. Is that fog? This part of the picture needs to be clarified adding more depth to the photo's dimension.

That being said, I still love the photo.

37 Sep 23 Reply Thanks Bob. Your comments are always appreciated. Agree, the glare on the seal's forehead is a bit much. Sep 22nd
37 Sep 23 Reply Thanks for your comments Peter. Yes, it is always about the eyes, isn't it. Sep 22nd
37 Sep 23 Reply Lee Ann: You are so right, as usual. I knew it was not my best shot, but there is something I really like about this 'lil seal. Love your suggestion to put catch lights in his eyes. Sep 21st
37 Sep 23 Comment Bob: Action shots are always tricky and this one is no exception. Love the concept, but the photo itself is confusing. Not sure where you can place the frisbee to make sense of where the dog is looking to nail his target. And, the placement of the dog's left rear paw definitely presents a problem. Try a lower aperture to fade the people and highlight the paw, just a smidge, to give the back paw more definition. Kudos to you for the sharpness of the photo especially with all the action that is taking place. Sep 21st
37 Sep 23 Comment Peter: Although legal, I usually ask the person permission to take their photo and offer to send them a copy if they want one. I actually know a photographer that carries release forms on him.

This photo captures the story of what "Rocky" represents to anyone who forges up those steps in Philadelphia with determination. Love the fierceness of this guy's expression and the way he is dressed for the occasion. Of course, the ideal photo would be to somehow include the iconic Rocky steps, but under the circumstances you made the right decision by walking away.

37 Sep 23 Comment Lee Ann: Love how you include the original photo along with a detailed explanation of what you did to get the end result as we see it.

I, personally, love the solitude of the ship, the seagull, and the island. They are all individual entities that mirror aspects of ocean life. And yet, somehow they all join together to compliment each other to create an ocean scene of serenity. The fog definitely makes the image. It projects an ethereal presence that instinctively draws the viewer in to the photo.

If you decide to keep the image, my suggestion is to bring the seagull down a bit (I noticed you did bring him over more to the left). Then, I would adjust the cropping accordingly.

Hope you are having a wonderful time as you venture throughout Ireland!

37 Sep 23 Comment Peter: The photo of Machu Picchu certainly gives the viewer an appreciation of why this iconic landmark is revered by past and present civilizations. The overall grandeur of the photo is outstanding as it peaks through the clouds. I agree, the surrounding natural environment is stunning, but if possible, needs to be clarified to compliment the beauty of this scenic landmark. Sep 20th
