Hi Santosh - thanks for the feedback. I used my long lens - 70 to 200 and this was shot at 145 mm. I do have a 100 mm macro lens but wouldn't have been able to get close enough to the bloom at the public gardens. |

Happy New Year Oleg and I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! I like your holiday tree with the sparkling ornament - very pretty! Again, you've added some creativity and uniqueness to your capture by using the TTArtisan lens and Hoya Star-Six filter. The combination certainly produced interesting effects!
However, they are quite pronounced and perhaps become more the subject than the ornament and tree. Is there any way to control the prominence of the circles? I do like the starbursts nearest the ornament but perhaps you could mask around the circles and reduce the luminosity or brightness a bit. |

Julia - You did a nice job capturing this beautiful kingfisher. I like the composition with the branch acting as a leading line to the subject. Also, it's very sharp focus with the catchlight in his eye. I also like the background and how it complements his coloring. |

Santosh - beautiful photo and I love the colors captured on the mosque. The purple, blue and green compliment each other well and really add to the interest of the architectural features.
I agree with Richard's comment since you want the viewer to focus on the mosque. However, the lights from the city reflecting on the water naturally bring the viewers' eyes to that part of your frame. Perhaps you could use a mask to tone down the lighting in the upper part of the photo?
Excellent job with the long exposure capture! |

Richard - thanks for sharing another photo from Paris and Notre Dame looks beautiful at night. It's also interesting to compare your final image with the original and I like how you cropped the photo as well as removed many of the bystanders. The remaining people are positioned nicely and give scale to the enormity of the cathedral.
However, there are still some shadows of people visible at the bottom of the photo so you might try to hide those a bit better. |

Marilyn - Nice photograph and it looks like you had great weather for the game! I like how you captured the Vanderbilt player holding the ball - but perhaps he just caught it and is contemplating running. You used a fast shutter speed to freeze the action and the main subject has his eyes open and looking forward. Nice capture! |
