Wow! That's an impressive collection!! You have lots of glass to try and learn their unique capabilities. Like a painter, we need different brushes for different effects and/or to spark our creativity.
Thanks for sharing!! |

Thanks for the additional information, Oleg. Maybe we should all take photos of our gear to share sometime.
Where do you purchase your lenses?
I've been listening to a podcast by Iain Farrell from the UK called "Prime Lenses" and some of the guests are using vintage lenses too. Give it a listen if you have time.

Nice job with the cropping Marilyn - I do think it's a stronger image now. |

Oleg - you have some very interesting camera equipment and while I don't know much about older gear, I'm very intrigued. It must be neat to experiment with such high quality gear from a previous era. Imagine the stories your lens could tell!! :)
I like your image as well - and love how the arches lead the viewer into your frame. I really like the reflection of the dog walker as well. I wonder if the image could be improved by cropping the top to focus more interest on the subject and his reflection? |

Hi Julia - sounds like a fun photo outing to chase the trains at various places in the Smokies! I really like your image and Oleg raises a valid point. Since you don't have much interest in the sky area, I think you could crop from the top and have the train and bridge take up closer to 2/3 of the image.
Good job positioning the tracks at the lower left of the frame and catching the train at just the right moment. |

Richard - I learn so much from your submissions and am amazed at the difference between your before/after. The copy brush did an amazing job at replicating the street and curb and love the leading line of the sidewalk and positioning of the woman walking down the street. There is a green halo around the light at the right that bothers me a little and I might reduce the lighting on the other lights to keep the focus on the main subject. |

Marilyn - very pretty image and I like the background texture you added. I sometimes experiment with rotating photos or changing the axis to place the more central focal elements in a preferred spot. So I might try rotating your flower where the bee would be placed towards the right side since you left so much open area to the right. |
