My pleasure - there are so many tools and it really takes time to learn them and know when/how to use them. Steep learning curve for me too.
I really enjoy seeing your images. My husband has visited India but I haven't had the chance yet. Maybe one day... |

Adelet - Thanks for sharing the Princess Place House - it looks like a beautiful setting and can just imagine sitting on the porch.
I recommend cropping the photo a bit more to emphasize the house, porch and people enjoying the view. So, cropping from the left and top - I don't think seeing so much of the left side of the house and top of the trees contributes to the composition. Just my two cents. :) |

Shirley - I love these types of photos with the masses of birds in flight. The composition includes some water with reflections which is nice to connect how they are flying over the water.
I don't know your settings but perhaps the shutter speed needed to be a bit faster to have more sharpness in the overall photo. I hope you're able to catch them again when they migrate through your area. |

Julia - a truly wonderful photo - love how the wings look almost like metal as they seem so reflective in this light.
I love your blurred background and glow effect around the bird. It really draws the viewer's eyes toward the bird's head and eyes too. I might consider lightening the head/eyes a bit to draw a bit more focus to that area and get a little more separation from the background. |

Santosh - wow - such a beautiful building and I love the colors. There's so much to explore in your photo from the architectural details and scene within a scene with the arch.
It does feel that the building is tilting a bit - maybe it's me? Perhaps you have some keystoning? I've used some transform tools with architecture shots using a wide angle and it seemed to help. Here's a link to an article that might be helpful:

Richard - Thanks for sharing another photo from Iceland - it's very interesting to see the before/after as well. I love seeing the steam coming out of the stack and how it blends with the clouds and background. It really draws your eyes through the image. Your processing also brought out more textures/colors in the sky which is very nice.
I'm a bit conflicted about the mass of concrete at the bottom left and the pipe coming out in the corner. I might crop some of the concrete as I don't feel it contributes to the overall story but others might like it as is.

Marilyn - I like your BW treatment of the photo and she's certainly an interesting subject. Her position and closed eyes give the viewer a lot to consider as we think about her mood or circumstances.
For improvement, perhaps you could try to get more contrast by increasing the white areas a bit more in her hair and/or darkening the background a bit.
I hope you'll share some images of the chalk festival too - that sounds really interesting. |
