Thanks for your comments Richard. I agree with you and will go back to editing to see if I can reduce those lighter reflections. |

Richard - I love seascapes and this one is quite beautiful. Looks like a very windy day but I like seeing the spray off the breaking waves. Your horizontal flip does improve the photo and lead the viewer into the frame. I also like the sky replacement.
I wonder if it would be an improvement to have a bit more color separation from the sea where it meets the horizon? Perhaps using some selective brushing on the crashing waves as well as areas into the water. |

Marilyn - Thanks for providing the original photo for comparison. I'm not familiar with the smudge technique but really like the painterly effect.
The composition works very well and your edit to enhance his eyes is good. Darker skin tones are difficult to edit especially with the high contrast of the leaves in the background.
To further enhance the image, I recommend darkening the leaves on the upper right to put more focus on the subject.
Nicely seen image and the event sounds really enjoyable! |
