Cindy - great capture and nice editing to focus attention on the geese. I enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts especially considering the birds communication/conversation. You've obviously created an image with strong emotional content/appeal to evoke these thoughts and considerations. |

I look forward to seeing more of your images from the trip. Were you on a tour or traveling on your own? |

Thanks Richard! For some reason, I like more shallow depth of field images. I think most judges of wildlife would like to see everything tack sharp and subjects in focus.
I'm a novice wildlife photographer and have noticed that it's difficult to get strong focus on multiple objects as they are moving. |

Marilyn - your image has great detail and I especially like the lights on its eye. Thanks for sharing the original image too - it's great to see the before/after.
I think you did a nice job of removing the background elements - this is something I'm trying to learn how to do as well.
Perhaps you could darken the background a bit especially on the left side of the frame as my eyes want to go to that area. |

Thanks for the feedback Richard. I'll try a vertical crop - see attached. Thoughts? |

Nice capture Julia. The heron looks so regal on top of the tree.
I agree with Richard about cropping from the top. I think removing some of the left side especially as the darker building showing is distracting. This would give the bird lots of room to consider what's off into the distance at the right.
Did you blur the buildings in camera or post? |

Richard - Wow - this image is so striking and it's interesting to see the original/final as well. I really love how the details have been captured as well as the colors by using exposure bracketing. I've used 3 images before but not five.
My only thought would be to darken the sky a bit in some areas if you wanted a bit more of a moody/emotional feel.
It must have been amazing to see this glacier and feel the power of mother nature. |
