It's interesting to consider this shift in perspective. I like it - seems much more open to explore the photo. |

Julia - interesting photo and sounds like a fun trip.
I like the composition and how the left side of the structure naturally leads the eye into the center of the building and courtyard. It's nicely lit and shows the distressed building and floral elements. The iron grates are also interesting elements in the foreground.
I might try cropping at the top - as I don't think the sky or plants on the roof add much to the image. The mystery of the image to me is the planters and the enclosed space. While the building is abandoned, it seems the plants are still flourishing.
Thanks for sharing,

Richard - great shot and I always enjoy these types of images. The rock walls and roadway lead the viewer straight to the home. I like how you brightened the image and brought out the colors in post. However, the brightness of the sky on the left keeps drawing my attention away from the house at the end of the road. Perhaps some adjustment to the sky area could reduce the glare/brightness.
Do you know the story of the rock walls?
Nice photo!

Marilyn - very interesting action photo of the Russian woman in action selling fish. I like the B&W processing and composition. The movement of her hand adds an interesting element to the photo as well. Nice capture!
What took you to that area of Russia?
