24 Mar 26 Reply Charissa, thank you so much. The round spot is something I didn't notice at all until you mentioned it. I'll need to examine the original image closely to determine what that is. It may be something with my lens/sensor.

Thank you for pointing it out!

24 Mar 26 Comment Barbara, what a terrific image. The depth of field is very good. Everything is nice and sharp. I love the lighting with the left corners darkened somewhat and the brightest areas appearing to originate from the upper right down to the center of the blossom.

Very, very nice work!

24 Mar 26 Comment John, I like the subject very much. Barbary is right. A darker background and more spare above the flower would work well with this image. Mar 10th
24 Mar 26 Comment Bev, very nice image. I agree with Barbara. This looks like a painting. Nice work,

24 Mar 26 Reply Barbara, thank you for your review. Yep! Now that you mention it. The gray spot does stand out a bit and burning it down would be a good remedy.

I have mixed feelings about healing the imperfections in the flower petals. Easy enough to do, but then again, this what the flower was.

I probably ought to have noted that not only was the sly overcast, but we did have showers sometime prior to the shot. I do appreciate your observations,

Thank you!

48 Mar 26 Reply Bridget, ICM!! oooh, good idea. This will need to wait until November 2026 when they they turn the lights back on. Good idea. Mar 12th
48 Mar 26 Comment Bridget, beautiful image. I can feel the chill against my face right now, despite my room being 68 degrees at the moment.

The is a strong sense of isolation in your composition and treatment of the capture. Good job.

I do agree with Tom regarding the crop. That post did pull my eye a little.

Good work!

48 Mar 26 Comment Thomas, excellent image. The color and sharpness of the tram is excellent and really captures my eye. Your use of selective focus and leading lines is very good. I like Tom's adjustment to the area above and to the right of the tram. very, very good shot! Mar 12th
48 Mar 26 Comment Stewart, great photo. The starburst and lens flare are excellent elements in your image. I like the posture of the two skaters. Definitely creates a sense of motion. Making the image black and white helps intensify the wintery feeling of the scene. Good work! Mar 12th
48 Mar 26 Comment Jamie, this is excellent. I would love to have witnessed the scene myself. I really love the light on the cotton rows and how they do lead into the power poles deep in the background. The sky is terrific. Mar 12th
48 Mar 26 Reply Richard, I neglected to reply to your note about how to process the image. The image that has a blurred background has a little more impact for me. Also, the crop on the image you've shown is plenty tight enough. I'd not crop in any more. Mar 11th
48 Mar 26 Comment Richard, WOW! I agree with Tom, you look to be closer than I would care to be. Great composition and exposure. Really, really nice shot. Great work!
