Charissa, outstanding. This image has a lot off appeal to me. The glass behind the flower adds patterns and textures to the image. The fabric background really enhances the image. Nicely sharp. This is a very nice composition.
Very, very nice image. Good work! |

Charissa, I attached the wrong name to this image when I submitted it to Bev. The intended title was : "Flowers In Suspension".
Having said that, I do appreciate your comments. May have been better to create some sense of an anchor for the cut glass. |

Mary Elle, first welcome to the group! You have a very nice image here and it's a great way to introduce yourself.
Your subject is nicely sharp. The exposure is very good. The petals a nicely white and the yellow nicely yellow. The nice think about macro lenses is good depth of field control and your background is nicely out of focus.
You do have some bright leaves or petals that attract attention. So, I tried to darken them with the burn tool. I also cropped the image to a square which helped direct more attention to the flower.
There is something on the petal that would be good to remove. Better before capture. Were I good with the clone tool I'd take a stab at removing it in post processing.
Very nice image. Good job! |

John, thank you very much. I believe they are carnations. I bought them at a grocery store as subjects cut glass floral arrangements.
Thank you for your comments. I appreciate them.

Bev, purple looks like a perfectly good color to love. This is a calming image. There's a sort of warm and comfortable feel to this image.
The weather forecast up here is calling for high temps to be less than 20 degrees with lows zero or below... I'm planning on looking at this image again over the next several days!
Good work! |

Richard, each of your reprocessing efforts produced results with added interest. It's not terribly dangerous to fiddle around with digital images as long as you always work on a copy of the original capture. Good stuff! |

Richard, thank you for your observations and comments. I did have my shutter release on "continuous" to capture a number of frames in succession in order to improve my chances of success. |

Bridget, you continue to impress with your creative eye. I really like the idea of this composition. I agree with Tom. There's something about not having more of the spoon on the left and maybe there's too much space on the bottom of the frame and not enough on top.
The colors and reflections are pleasing and the image is sharp where it needs to be.
I really like what you do. You have a nice eye and I am looking forward to seeing your work each month! |

Stewart, the lighting is interesting and appealing. The models expression is "edgy". I'm imagining she's about to say something to us. The pose is a little uncomfortable, but that creates some tension. Nice detail and sharpness. |

Jamie, nice shot. Very pleasing scene. Nice and warm, which is appreciated tis time of year. I also like the repeating pattern of the sand and the reflection of the sun. My eye does follow across the frame lower right to upper left and then across to the sun.
Nice job! |

Richard, It would be good to have a wee bit more detail of the subject. The shapes and patterns are of interest to me. I do think the image is a little flat. So, I went into Elements 2023 and used the Levels adjustment tool. I played with the mid tones slider to darken the image and also increased image contrast. I think this added interest!
Let us know what you think!
I do like the concept and the composition. Nice eye you have.
