Charissa, I did neglect to mention using a small led flashlight that I waived in front of the blossom. Key detail, that!
The vase was on it's side on a piece of black matt board with a cutout to allow light through to the upper part of the vase. When I substituted the background I was able to delete a number of "imperfections" in my original capture leaving behind the very bright patterned highlights from the glass vase. |

Dorinda, your adjustments did help focus attention. The subject is interesting.
By the way, I have no idea why I started my last message with "John". Obviously, I was mentally multi tasking at the time I was reviewing your image. Sorry about that! |

John - interesting image. Nice lighting, good exposure. The depth of focus is good and I like the darker corners in the frame. I did not find a strong center if interest in the frame, but this image pleasing to the eye! |

Charissa, very nice still life. I like the lighting and the background. The subject has a lot of interest to me. There is a blossom on the right that is on a bent stem that i found distracting. So, I cloned it out in my feedback image. Overall, very good work!! |

Jamie, sorry for the tardy reply. Thank you for your comment. I am anxious to go back if/when we get some snow. I'm thinking some of the other old relics on that property could make for very interesting subjects with snow as an image element.
Thanks again! |

Tom, outstanding. I like the action and the color of the water. Bev is right, a closer crop boosts the impact nicely. Good work!! |

Steward, very interesting image. I agree with Bev's comment and feedback image. I think the woman fussing with her sunglasses is where the interest is. Cool shot, nice idea!!! |

Jamie, nice composition. The shoreline and setting sun is of interest. I agree with Bev and Tom regarding the jellyfish. I'd be tempted to have gotten a capture capturing more of the jellyfish. Nice shot! |

Richard, both images appeal to me. I'm impressed you can push your gear the way you did and get the result you got. I also like your processed image. I'm in agreement with Bev on the "dark" ear. I could see a print or either image adorning my wall. Good work with the capture and you interpretation/post processing!!! |

Bev, this is outstanding. You've got a great TV to capture that image. Very nice and I like your sharing that childhood memory. Such a valuable thing to relive. Thanks for sharing!!! |

Bev, thank you for the comments. It's an interesting thing that this location was more or less known to me for a decade, but I never worked up the initiative to drive out there. Only a 30 minute drive..... |

Tom, thank you! I was pretty impressed with the condition of the car. It's a 1950-something Ford. I'm not sure how long it's been sitting outside. It's in pretty fair shape for a car or that age.
Anyway, the shape of the ornament did catch my eye and the condition of the chrome was somewhat striking.
I appreciate your comment!
