Charissa, thank you.
I'm sorry the image description didn't get through. I have a small lightbox that I refitted with an LED light source. This allows me to change the light color without using gels. I had my camera on a tripod and made several exposures with white light, green light and blue light from the LEDs. I did exposures with red light, but didn't like how they came out. I used a small LED flashlight to illuminate the flowers.
I successively layered the best of each color exposure on top of the white light image and erased that portion of each layer to reveal what I wanted to show from the layers below.
I agree with your observation that this image is more about the vase than the flowers. I do have another composition from a similar setup that is more "flower dominant" that may appear next month....! |

Charissa, very nice composition. I like the subject and the lighting and background. The flowers are sharp. I like the soft shadows off to the lower right of the frame. Very, very nice work! |

Jamie, thank you. I think there is a draw to old machines that were once very important and necessary. Then become useless and abandoned, but don't go away! |

Tom, this is an impressive image. I admire your creativity. The woman put a lot of work into the makeup and "body" paint(??). Don't know if I could do that. So, I appreciate your sharing that capture. Sharp and interesting. Very good work! |

Stewart, the scene is pretty nice. The image is a little too dark in the foreground. Looks like a lot of wind and wave action. Would be good to get more light into the lower half of the image. |

Jamie, this is an excellent image. What you did in post processing really works. Beautiful animals and you've done a great job with this capture and presentation. This will make a very nice print. |

Bev, I agree with Richard and Tom's comments. This is an outstanding image. Very sharp and colorful. I really like the subjects facial expression. Something is going on to her right or she's looking for mom! Very good! |

Yom, thank you! I've only been to Georgia a couple of times to visit a relative. I have heard of Old Car City and would like to get there some day. There's a semi abandoned junkyard an hour west of me that I keep meaning to go to. Need to get off my duff given how interesting abandoned things are! |

Richard, thank you! Generally speaking, I am impressed with how some of these old vehicles hold up out in the weather all the time. I appreciate your comments! |
