Frank,
That does look good. I suppose I could have also used the smudge tool to change the shape of the bright area or burned it down some.... I'll se if I can effect those changes and share the results in a bit. I appreciate the reply!! |

Bev, I'm digging around as well. I've been retired for over a year and a half and have less time for photography. How does that happen? That's not a rhetorical question, by the way... |

Charissa, I agree with your observation about the bright area in the upper left. When I did the image it caught my eye as well, but there are strands or whisps of light between that area and the tip of the flower that are connected. Almost as if the two regions are connected... I think it's interesting... |

Frank - very, very nice shot! The subject is beautiful subject. I'm impressed with your post processing. It is nicely sharp. I found elements in the corners a wee bit distracting. So, I used the burn tool to darken the corners. I think that makes the flower stand out a little more. Very good work! |

Fred - Very nice subject and I like your post processing of it. I think the crop is a bit too tight with a couple petals touching the edge of the frame and others quite close. The colors are very pleasing. Interesting composition!! |

Charissa - really like the subject. The colors are very pleasing. The background is very good. The flower looks a little soft, but it is still pleasing!
I darkened the background a little and sharpened the flower a little. May ne better, maybe not!
Nice shot! |

Bev, I like the subject. The lower blossom is right on the edge of the frame. The background is great! Some of the petals look to be a bit too bright. Sharpness is good. Pretty nice shot! |

Tom, the composition is impressive. Though I know humans are not on a gators menu, I'd have NO interest walking anywhere near these beasts. The composition is very good. I do think the suggestions made earlier are good and the image in your last reply looks much better. Good job all!!

Bev, this is a very appropriate image given this years elections. I agree that converting most of the image to monochrome really emphasizes or flag. I like the posture of the rider and horse with a slight left-hand lean. Indicates movement. I agree that a little less blurring of the background would be good. Very nice image!

Richard, excellent capture. I am liking the results of Olympus cameras. Nice detail, the composition is very good. Having the subjects eyes on your lens is impactful. I do like your background. Good work!
Bev did a nice feedback image and I think it's a wee bit sharper.
Welcome to the group!

Jamie, thank you! I had many "so-so" captures from my vantage point. I was happy to get this one and a few more that may surface in future rounds...

Stewart, my original exposures were very underexposed. I was watching for where the "rockets" were being shot (not precisely the same place) and followed them up to where they burst. It is amazing what digital sensors can capture below what the eye can see. Then there's the software..... I can't imagine doing this with slide film though I loved Kodak E100VS.... |

Janie, thank you. I am curious how you made the smaller "explosions" larger in size. Was this a cloning effort or did you do very localized burning....
I appreciate the feedback!!!! |
