I know, grebes don't wait a long time to capture. So you don't have much choice not to capture from the back. Of course it's better to get it from front.
Good processing. Sharp and good lightened bird. There's just a shadow of the removed grass in front. |

Very beautiful flower! Background (perhaps a kind of wall) is really distracting. I would make a wider portrait type of crop and remove the largest leaf in front of the flower. |

I like photographing birds. This cormorant is properly lightened. Feathers on wings are very sharp. Those on head are a little bit soft.
Background is busy. Perhaps it would be the best way to selectively blur it.
This pose is not very desired at photographers. Sometimes you wait for a long time the bird to raise it's head. That's more interesting pose. |

I also agree with square cropping and darkening the ice block a little. I would use blurring of the background.

I agree about lightening her face. I suggest also more precise removing background at her hair. |

I decided for that crop to keep more sky and to avoid the town to be in the middle. |
