Terry,
I would give you first medal for this angelic portrait. Perfect processing and background by you, not by Photoshop. |

Kathleen,
nice bears and nice pose! Your crop is a little bit too tight. I would crop original just on right and up. On the left side you should leave more space for the bear's sight in the time of capturing.
The quality of processed photo is not very good. The image is not sharp enough. The trees are a little bit overexposed. The original is to small to see the difference.
I know, that with years our cameras became more and more heavy for us. On the other side, some mobiles have good cameras, but not all. It should be tested with not processed photos on mobile and a point & shot camera. The zoom on mobile is in most cases digital. That means, that you loose quality when you zoom the photo. So also camera with good wide angle photo can have poor zoomed photos.
I'm sure, that there are some aspects by which mobile photo can't be as good as camera:
1. You can never hold mobile so steady as camera and pressing on touch to capture. Photos in low light are usually blurred.
2. You can never see the object of capturing on display of mobile or pocket camera as good as on electronic viewfinder (EVF) in sunshine.
3. Manual, shutter and aperture priority gives you more possibilities at capturing then automatic mode of mobile.
Processing of a photo on mobile can't be very good, because you don't see good, what you are doing. The photo is too small. Even if you connect it to a TV. No applications can help.
So I advice you and others in such situation to buy a lighter compact camera with EVF or three thirds with smaller lenses. For example Panasonic's compact FZ-80 has angles from 20 to 1.200 mm. It costs 400$ and it weights just 600g. I think it's very useful for everybody, that don't want to bear heavy DSLR.

Walter,
pot edge, blurring and cultivated plants are all limitations for ND. You can't get rid of them. Photo would be still more interesting with closer macro.
It seems that processed photo is less sharp then original. |

Joan,
interesting building and good processing. I like reflections in the windows.
Was it possible to include the roofs or the whole buildings around? I do not like too much cut buildings and flags on the bottom.

Bunny, I'm sorry, that you have been evacuated. In last days we don't read very much about the fires. Thanks God, that you could return home.
One advice: I always use all the pixels of the sensor. You don't loose so many bytes. My is 4:3. You can always cut out. I just plan for landscape photos to leave more place on the sides. Yes, this image is a little bit tight.
Have you captured this photo in BW? I would like to imagine, how would look the photo in color. Converting on computer you have more possibilities. Here I think some parts of boys (hair, trousers) have very similar tone as background.

Dear Mohanan, your country has so many different interesting customs!
I agree with Bunny, that few steps to the left would solve many problems: pole, cars but keeping the road and cut head and feet of first women.
Your tonal and color processing is very good. |
